English Grammar for Students of German: The Study Guide for Those Learning German (O&h Study Guides) (English and German Edition)

Would not be without it in the study of German. Working it cover-to-cover as well as the free exercises provided on the website; currently over halfway through. Was a “recommended” text in an introductory course I’m taking for fun (not for credit). (Former CPA, but English could have easily been a second major in terms of personal competence.) Learning German has been a delightful challenge and a very rewarding personal experience thus far.That being said, photo attached from this book (p. 8) explains the necessity of this book best IMO.Schools recommend this book but it’s an absolute “must-buy” (if not required), and if self-taught I especially recommend if using Duolingo solely in your study and looking for or needing more.I would not be the least bit surprised if those in a formal program found this better than the textbook itself and at a fifth of the price.This book is the foundation you need, the one you’re looking for.

I found this book to be absolutely perfect. It gave me a great review of my English grammar and helped show where that was best applied in learning German. I bought this book as a quick guide to learn the basics of German. I studied German a few years ago and recently wanted to brush up. The content of the book has been very helpful. I read the through it quickly and intend to use it chapter by chapter as I go along. The book was advertised as Used, and it arrived almost brand new. As promised, there is very little wear and no markings inside. I’m happy with this purchase and would buy from the seller again.

I had grammar in school many years ago, and bought this to refresh my memory on terms : like what is a participle, what are the different verb tenses? This book is much much more. It explains the German grammar as well. One of my favorite part is the 'study tips' in the various sections that help you learn to remember the part of German grammer just discussed. I have a regular German grammar book as well, but I am using this one much more.

If you're just starting out learning German, you need this book. What's great about it is the breakdown of concepts: for example, what is a noun, how it's defined in our English language with examples, and then correlates it to German--how a noun and it's variants are expressed in the German language with once again, examples. It's a staple right now as I take German 101. Hopefully this helps someone!

This book was just what I needed. When I began learning I found my English grammar was holding me back significantly. This book helped me get on track with my English grammar while explaining similarities and differences between the two languages. I wish I had this at the beginning! 10/10.

This book is absolutely brilliant for those of us who did not learn Grammar at school, or have forgotten what we did!

I was required to get this for a university level course and I love it!!! It's a reference for basically everything and explains it in an easy-to-learn format. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to learn German!

If you are like me for whom grammar was something that happened somewhere in the murky darkness of high school, then this book will be invaluable. It is not possible to learn a language without an understanding of grammar. To get over this basic stumbling block, a lack of knowledge of grammar, this book is invaluable. It presents a clear English example followed by the German equivalent. Want to know what preposition to use in the accusative case? it is all there.Highly recommended.

Gift for young student. Well received. From experience I think it will be a helpful book for a beginner.
