It was sturdy and the pen stayed on well
We just went to six flags and I was worried about my 4 year old wandering off and getting lost since we decided not to bring a stroller this time. I had peace of mind that if he was lost, he knew to tell a worker that his parents numbers were on his braclet. It was sturdy and the pen stayed on well. The closure stayed closed and it was too difficult for my child to take off on his own, so I liked that I didn’t have to worry about him taking it off or it falling off. I will keep using this product! Thank you!

Worked for us...
I noticed in some of the reviews that people said that sweat and water was making the writing come off. I did still get them even though that's an important review. What I did was took a pen, regular black ink ballpoint pen - not a marker/sharpie, and wrote just the child's name and the parent contact numbers/names. Then I took packing tape (clear) and covered the whole back and then carefully trimmed around the edges as to only have the back (the side with the writing on) covered. I thought, now I haven't tried it, but I thought that if I covered the front and back with the tape that the clasp might not close or pop open then making the bracelet unusable. We used them in the beginning of April down in Florida where it did get above 80 and very sunny :) We did not have any issue with closing the clasp, the writing coming off, or the tape. They worked very well and stayed on. If your child is small enough they can go on the ankle that way they are less likely to take them off.

Great idea, but haven't found a way so that it doesn't smear with sweat or water
The band idea is great and seems to be of high quality. It did smear easily even when used with a Sharpie marker.

Great product, worked well for my kids!
I bought 2 of these bands for my kids ages almost 3 and almost 5. They wore them for 9 days straight from the departing airport. Then on a cruise ship in various pools. Also showers and baths, and then back home when I finally took them off. The writing was a little faded with the sharpie I used, but readable. My kids enjoyed wearing them and never really tried to take them off.

Don't count on this for ID
I ordered this ID bracelet for a non-verbal three-year-old grandchild for the beginning of the school year since he cannot tell his teachers/daycare workers his name or other info. The info I wrote on the bracelet with a permanent Sharpie pen was almost completely worn off at the end of the first day. As it turns out, the first day of wearing it is also his last day of wearing it because it came home in his backpack, not on his wrist, with the clasp missing. It did not suit our needs at all.

short length makes it only good for very small children and 'locking' feature doesn't work well
This was a waste of money for us because it is way too small and the safety 'locking' feature does not work. Although I realize the main need for this is with small children who cannot speak up for themselves, I still thought that the bracelet would be a decent enough length to make it work for us, having a slightly older child with high-functioning autism.I purchased this for my son who is 9 and has Asperger's. He sometimes wanders off when we are in crowded places and for the life of him cannot remember our phone numbers. Once he realizes that he is separated from us, he knows to find someone with a uniform or ID badge and will ask for help. But since he can't also tell them a phone number to call us to come get him, then the best they can do is lead him to an info booth. When he disappeared for over 15 mins (to a mom, that is FOREVER) at a 4th of July event at the local mall, I decided that this was a good option to try. I thought $8 was overpriced for a strip of plastic but I reminded myself that I probably would have paid anything to have it at that 4th of July event (or any of the other events that he has wandered away from, for that matter).I bought this one over the other similar products on Amazon because its reusable and touts a 'locking' safety feature (having Asperger's, my son is sensitive to things touching his skin and I didn't want him to be able to remove it).Well, we didn't even get that far because when I went to put it on him I couldn't even get the ends to touch each other. Tried both his ankle and his wrist and it was too short for either one. Yes, my son is 9 and I probably should not have expected this to be long enough to fit him. But it actually never crossed my mind that it may NOT fit him, because he is a skinny little waif of a child and I thought surely for $8 I would have received at least enough thin plastic to get it to clasp together. Even the cheap one-time use ones are one-size-fits-all.I attached a picture to show the actual length of the bracelet. Although it IS 7.7 inches long as the product details state, you can't really use this as an indication that it will fit because the end has to overlap at least the width of the clasp. The actual bracelet length is 6.5 inches (and that's being generous by taking into account the curved end; its more like 6.25")Also, the 'locking' feature doesn't really work. The little teeth that hold it together are very short and made of cheap thin plastic; with just a little bit of tugging, the end slips through. As a side note: I debated on even writing a review since I was using it on a child that is older than intended. I always try to provide useful and fair reviews and I was at first concerned that I may not doing the latter. I decided to go ahead and give my honest experience with this product because there is a growing number of families that have children with varying degrees of autism and many of them are probably like me & looking for solutions such as this to make their day-to-day a little less stressful. I hope my review helps some of those parents in choosing the best product for their special needs child. I also hope that the manufacturer of this product will read my review and think about improving their product to make it useful to a wider range of people; I would think that it would be fairly easy to make it an inch or two longer to accommodate older children.

Highly recommend this bracelet
This bracelet was fantastic. I used a permanent marker to write the contact details on the inside. My child wore this bracelet all day, every day on vacation and even in the splash park. The writing didn’t come off and the bracelet did not slip or loosen. The material is soft enough that it is comfortable to wear even in the heat. It requires two hands to remove so the child cannot remove it on their own.

Great solution for child id
Worked well for what it is designed to do. On the surface it seems a bit pricey for a simple plastic band but it works and lasts. It held up to a four day trip to Disneyland and will be making an extended trip to Tokyo. My boys were unable to open it on their own and it was comfortable enough that once past the initial protest for having to wear it they all but forgot they had it on. It is adjustable and removable/reusable making it a bit more economical. One of the two bands became a bit touchy when securing but once secure, it never came undone. So, while a bit more costly than some of the competitors (but also less than others) it worked well enough for me that I didn't worry about it failing and leaving my children without identification as seemed to happen with some competitors. As others have said, a small price for piece of mind. I also experienced fading of the permanent marker on the band, not so much that it was unreadable and it was simple enough to rewrite (just make sure you pack a permanent pen). Liked the fact that contact info was on the inside of the band and there was ample room to write legibly. While the design was acceptable for my toddler boys wish there were some simpler designs or solid colors.
