Size:Fivе Расk This is a great honing fluid, whether you own a Tormek sharpening system or not (and seriously, if you don’t, and like sharp tools, look into getting one.) This honing compound is used straight on the T-3, T-4, or T-7 leather wheel strop (or the profiled leather honing wheels) to remove burrs and polish tool edges to razor sharpness. Used after the grinding stone, this 3-micron honing compound (approximately 8000 grit) will buff and polish the edges of Tools, Knives, Wood Chisels, Plane Irons, Spoke Shaves, Carving Tools, Lathe Turning Tools, and Scissors. One application should last for 5–10 tools. You can also use this on a stand-alone leather strop if you wish (but again, if you are interested in sharp tools for your workshop, the Tormek water-cooled sharpening systems really can’t be beat.)

Want to get a sharp razor head, without spending the ridiculous $60 they charge? This will do it!
Used it to sharpen/polish my Norelco electric razor head. Sixty seconds and the two year old blades were performing just about like new ones. The new head now costs an amazing $60, the cheap $12 Chinese imitations work pretty good for the first week, and they start plucking instead of trimming. This tube of honing compound is about a lifetime supply for most guys. A little dab pushed up from the underside of each blade set, using a Q-tip to push it up so that it is on top the blades, run the razor for 1 minute, wash thoroughly and enjoy the feel of a new blade.

A little goes a long way and it worked better than I expected.
This actually surpassed my expectations. I use it in a bench top leather strop . I liked it so well I pretty much and honed or polished every blade in the house. If it starts to cake up and gets messy, just scrape it off and add a little more and spread it out. It seemed to work better the more I used it. I will definitely buy again and will likely buy some for gifts to give to my knife sharpening loving friends and family. I did notice the price seems to fluctuate up or down a dollar or so from time to time. But either way, it seems worth the price asked so far. I have not used it on a wheel though. I may have to find one or make one to use it with. I was worried it might have a strong odor like some metal polishes have but this has a very light scent that seems to not linger once it dries. Not sure how it compares to the other honing or polishing compounds out there as I am somewhat new to this.

Better than expected; small tube though...!
Applied a small amount to CLEAN smooth leather strop, let it dry, applied a little more. Worked great! Used on some serious steels too, including elmax, zdp189, and 3V. Its been easier to apply lately, as i now apply a DAB of mineral oil first and really rub it in. Leaves a nive clean edge, and well polished bevel/micro bevel. Ill buy more, defintely.

Excellent product
Its exactly what I was looking for. I'm a knife collector and use everything I purchase. I use this and a heavy piece of canvas to hone all the edges back to factory original or better before they go back to the wall. I recently picked up a spyerco byrd from amazon, and as anyone who has owned one knows that spyderco's are some of the factory sharpest you can find commercially. I have used this knife as my EDC for a few months now and am moving to the next prize. The edge wasn't in bad shape, but after a few passes with this honing compound, the edge has mirror like appearance. This stuff will take a sharp knife and make it surgical. Good stuff.

Awesome for Super Sharp, Super Polished Knife Blade
I bought this to use in conjunction with a 400/1000 Japanese water stone; to sharpen hunting and pocket knives. I have been very pleased with the results that I get. I just use it to strop with a small amount on a sturdy piece of leather (about 6" X 6"). This stuff will take a completely re-profiled blade to a nice fine polish and scary sharp in just about 10 minutes. It is supposed to be 6000 grit, and it does put a fine edge on a blade. I never really realized how to get to scary sharp, and with this compound it is fast and easy.I highly recommend this product, but I can say I've ever used it for it's intended purpose

It's okay on regular strops but probably much better with Tormek
I have several drill-mounted leather strop wheels and also a leather strop belt mounted onto a converted 1-inch belt sander. This paste works but not as well as other compounds that I already own. IMO, this paste isn't really meant for lower speed stropping applications as it's difficult to get a really polished finish on the blade. Not bad but once I use it up I'll go back to using the other compounds I own. This paste is most likely designed for optimal use with the Tormek system.

"OLD RELIABLE"
I use this for general, all-around stropping. If you only need to go to "shaving sharp" and not "surgical sharp" or "pathologically sharp" there is no need to buy any other compound...this will do the trick perfectly. One tube lasts me about a year to a year-and-a-half.

Works perfectly on my strop.
This stuff is amazing. Works into the leather on my strop easily. Used in combination with my 1000 and 3000 water stones it results in the sharpest edges I've ever made. Also works great for maintaining the edge after each use. Lasts quite a while in the leather. One thing though, it smells TERRIBLE. Just foul. Totally worth it, but don't use it at the kitchen table while people are around.
