My standard poodle learned as a puppy that yipping would bring people running to pet him. Flash forward to adulthood and he barks to get attention from people who pass by my car. He's a big dog; most people don't understand that he's being friendly when he barks for attention. The last thing I want is for my dog to scare someone. I've tried every trick in my toolbox to stop this behavior. But effective training requires consistency and it's impossible to be consistent when the problem only occurs when I'm behind the wheel of a car. I purchased this collar in desperation. After only one use, he suddenly understands what I mean when I say "quiet." I was able to actually visit with friends from our cars (masked and six-feet apart) with a quiet dog.To make this collar work, you'll need to place it directly over his voice box and make sure the collar is tight enough. If the collar doesn't beep on the first bark (you'll hear it), the collar is too loose. Once you get the collar adjusted correctly, you need to teach your dog that he controls the collar. The easiest way to do this is to find someone to help you create a situation where you dog normally barks. Stay by his side and, when he starts to bark, cue "quiet." The collar will beep at the first two barks, then vibrate at the third one. This is usually enough to stop the barking. When he stops, say "good quiet!" and reward him with a treat. As I said, it only took one training session for my standard poodle to figure this out.Interestingly, the cue "quiet" is more effective now even when he isn't wearing the collar -- which tells me he never understood the word.For me, this collar was worth every penny.

Unfortunately the product didn't work at all. I tested it for instructions and it seemed to respond fine to the tests, but once I actually put it on our dog after it was fully charged and he barked multiple times quite loudly, it did not beep or vibrate. We tested it a couple times just to make sure and made sure it was positioned appropriately according to instructions. I troubleshooted it also according to the provided instructions and nothing made it work when it was actually on the dog, and he was barking. Our dog is a larger dog, with long fur, however he is under the weight limit described as to what dogs this product fits. Our dog weighs around 60 lb and the maximum weight listed was 100. I saw several great reviews for this product but clearly it doesn't work for everybody. I think maybe this is better for short-fur dogs. The issue however, wasn't that the vibration didn't cause the reaction, it just didn't vibrate or beep at all despite very loud barks.

We have been using this for a couple of months and it works pretty good, although my dog is starting to get used to it and it isn't working as good as it first did. Overall I have been happy with it though. Its not the collars fault that my dog is starting to ignore it. I did not want anything with prongs that could injure my doggo, so this seemed like a good solution. The battery life is really good, especially if you take the collar off when your dog is chilling inside and turn it off. We didn't have to charge it for several weeks-month when we first got it. We did start leaving it on her all the time, and probably have to charge it ever 1.5-2 weeks with constant use (we take it off at night and turn it off)Update:After several months my dog seems to ignore the collar but I think it did help to train her not to bark as much. We also used treats and commands to try to train her so I think this is still a great tool to use along with additional training. You can't expect to only use the collar and no training and continue to get results long term. My neighbors even said that whatever we did worked great and he hardly notices the dogs barking anymore. The battery lasts a long time especially if you take it off and turn it off when not in use and at night while your dog is sleeping.

This bark deterrent collar work 'magically' to stop my pup's barking immediately. She starts to bark at other dogs walking by and the beeping sounds startles her and shakes her out of her instinct to keep barking. I'm so impressed with this device and grateful that I found something that works, before the neighbors started to complain.I also am giving a 5-star rating to Pawious for the excellent customer service. I misplaced the charging cord for this. Pawious responded right away and although they didn't have any of the charging cords in stock, they gave me a link to a different seller that sells the 'exact' charging cord for under $10.00. I ordered it and it will arrive in a few days. Grateful that I don't have to purchase another entire collar as this one works perfectly fine.

DIFFICULT TO FIGURE OUT WITHOUT PROPER INSTRUCTIONS. I HAD THE COLLAR FINGER TIGHT AND IT STILL KEPT SLIPPING TO THE SIDE AS IN PICTURE.i WASN'T ABOUT TO TIGHTEN IT ANY TIGHTER. I USE A FLEA COLLAR ON HER AND NO WAY WAS IT GOING TO WORK SO I TRIED WITHOUT IT AND STILL KEPT SLIPPING IT JUST DIDN'T WORK FOR ME AS I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT SETTING IT WAS ON AS THERE IS NO INDICATION FOR SETTINGS JUST A PLUS AND MINUS BUTTON AND THE MINUS BUTTON WAS USED ALSO FOR TURNING IT ON OR OFF. VERY CONFUSING.IT WAS VERY LIGHT WEIGHT BUT WISHED THE REST WAS A LITTLE MORE INFORMATIONAL. THAT BEING SAID YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BY TRYING IT AND SEE FOR YOUR SELF I HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WITH MY DOG AS SHE WAS A ABUSED AND RESCUED AND TO THIS DAY SHE STILL IS AFRAID OF EVERYTHING SO FOR ME IT ISN'T THE BEST CHOICE. SHE IS A YAPPER AND STILL BARKED WITH IT ON AND THEN STARTED SHAKING AND I DON'T WANT HER TO BE AFRAID ANY MORE.
