Good watch.... once you figure it out
OK, so here goes, hopefully this will be helpful to someone. (I have included instructions on how to use the watch below.) One of the biggest complaints I saw in these reviews was:User Friendliness:This watch is a Japan made watch. And the instructions for the watch were not written by someone with English as a first language. So therein lays the first problem. I figured out how to do most things on my watch through trial and error, and in general... getting lucky. Also, if you are having problems figuring out how to use it, the only place to go for help is amazon questions (yes, I googled for the watch's website and there is no other place to go). I have had many watches that were intuitive, but this one is not.The Annoying Hourly ChirpThe annoying hourly chirp that several others have talked about can be turned off. When you have the watch showing the main time screen, hold the bottom right button and then hit the bottom left button to turn it off. When you do that, the day of the week screen up top will be all on if the chime is on, or will be all off (minus today's day) if it is off.SizeThis watch is made in Japan, so don't expect a larger wrist to fit in it. I have an average woman's wrist size and I am on the very last hole in the band. So you should probably measure your wrist before getting this with a fabric tape measure. If your wrist is even the slightest bit above 7 inches, don't buy this. You will have to return it. Mine is about 6 and a half, and it fits snugly on the last hole. Hopefully it will not chafe my wrist when I take it on a run tomorrow. If it does, I will update my review! The band is a bit stiff, but I'm hoping that will remedy itself with a bit of wear. (Update - several months later and no chafing) The positive thing about this is that if you are planning on buying it for your daughter, it will probably fit her.WaterproofYes this watch is waterproof, but there are limits to its usability under water. It specifically says in the instructions that you should not touch any buttons underwater. So if you are just planning on using this watch to time your swimming laps, it will work just fine. But don't think you are gonna go shallow diving with this and use the stop watch at the same time. And I certainly would never trust it with my life underwater. The FunctionsPerhaps this will be useful for those having a hard time figuring out the instructions. There are four buttons on the watch (Top Right, Bottom Right, Top Left, and Bottom Left). Only three of the buttons are used to set the watch. These buttons in the instructions are referred to as S, R, and M.S - top right button (start/stop)R - bottom right button (reset)M - bottom left button (mode)Here's how it works! The M (mode) button is the main button you use to do things. Here's what happens when you click it from the main time display screen.M x 1 - When you hit the mode button (bottom left) one time from the main time screen, you are in the stopwatch mode. From here, to use the stop watch you click the start/stop button (top right) to start the stopwatch or stop it. And use the reset button (bottom right) to reset it to 0. When you are done, click the mode button (bottom left) to get back to the main time screen.M x 2 - When you are in the main time screen and hit the mode button (bottom left) twice, you will be in the alarm screen. You use the start/stop button (top right) to change the displayed time, and use the reset button (bottom right) to change between the hour and minute. NOTE! Do not set the alarm up until you have properly setup the time. If you are in 12 hour standard clock, the alarm will show up with the options to set it up with am or pm. If you are in 24 hour military time, the alarm will show up the option to set it in 24 hour times. When mine arrived it was setup in military time, so it was very confusing!!! So save yourself the hassle and set the time first!M x 3 - When you are in the main time screen and you hit the mode button (bottom left) three times, you will be in the time setting screen. This is where you can set the time, date, and the day of the week. Once you are in this screen, you can use the reset button (bottom right) to switch between the hour, the minute, the day, the month, and the day of the week. In any of those places, you use the start/stop button (top right) to switch the number or day that is displayed. When you are setting the hours, take a look at the letter on the right hand side. If you want to set the watch in standard 12 hour display it will show A for am, P for pm, and if you want to set it up in 24 hour time it shows H for military time. The Light - The top left button is only used to turn the light on or off. It will stay illuminated for as long as you are holding it down, or for three seconds if you just click it. So don't expect to use this watch at night outside if you want it for anything other than just checking the time.Turning the Alarm On/OffOnce you have set the time on the alarm, here's how to turn it off/on. From the main time screen, you hold the reset button (bottom right), then click the start/stop button (top right) to turn it on/off. If the alarm is set the word "Alm" will show. If it is off, it will not show.OK, hopefully this will help some people. For the price, this is a really decent watch. If the instructions had been written better, this watch would probably have 4-5 stars from everyone. The lack of user friendliness factor, size, and lack of ability to really use it underwater for different things is the only reason it didn't get a 5 star review from me.

Great watch for a great price!! I recommend it!
I just got my watch today, so my review is based off of a day of use. Got it in great timing as well. No delivery issues.Took me a whole 5 minutes to figure out all the buttons. With the instructions it was rather simple! Without them I could have figured it all out but it would have taken a little longer. The only thing I haven't tested was the waterproof capability, which I hope is good because I work as a ATS and have to sit in the rain.Stop watch is great and simple to get to.The alarm is able to be turned off so it doesn't randomly go off during the day when you really didn't want it to.There is a light you can turn on; only down side is it stays on for 3 seconds then turns off, so it can be used to see the time, but the stop watch would be hard to use in the dark. This is a steal! I love it so far and have very few dislikes about it, which I can't even complain cause the price was great! Wish it wasn't pink though!

I like it.
I do like the watch, fits fine, works fine the instructions it comes with are kind of basic and hard to follow. But it's a nice piece. I bought it to swim in, I just needed something I could wear in the pool and just to keep up with the time. I couldn't stand not knowing what time it was. It gets the job done, I kind of like the hourly chirp so that I can keep up with how long I've been in the pool and when to reapply sunscreen. So, I guess I took the one star away because the clasp feels kind of cheap, like it may not last, and the instructions are hard to understand. Other than that, I'm pleased.

LASTS FOREVER
I bought this watch the summer before my Junior year of college because I needed something to wear in the pool while I taught swimming lessons. After 5 years of daily use, including going on SCUBA trips, this thing is still ticking like the day I got it. It has been dropped, smashed into walls, worn in pools, been 25m underwater, been in the sun, been in a mud race, run a few half marathons, and been yanked on by children. I LOVE IT.

Great sport watch!
I love this sport watch! The only ones in my price range I could find were the ones that hang around your neck, but I wanted one that I could wear around my wrist because I time my 1.5 mile runs. I found this cute watch and it shows the time, has a stop watch, and you can set an alarm on it. The only thing I don't like is that it beeps on the hour every hour. Perhaps, I can change the setting, but I don't know how. Other than that, it's a great inexpensive sports watch for women.

Big wrists beware.
I have big hands which equals wide wrists. If you have large wrists I'd look for something that you could try out in the store. Other than that, it was not too difficult to program. I messed with it for about 30 mins and got it to my time and learned it's functions.

Great for juniors
I bought this watch as a Christmas gift. Most of the watches I found for a reasonable price were water resistant not waterproof. I have not tested it in the water but if it holds up its an excellent deal. Its very cute but I'd like to have color options.
