If you like comedy in the style of Flight of the Concords you will love this. Jermaine Clements writing genius just flows throughout this comedy

Love this series- I wasn't sure if I'd like it after having loved the movie so much- but I watched every episode with my dad & he ended up loving it as well...and he is particularly hard to impress as far as movies & shows- so I got each of us a copy. My package arrived ahead of schedule and that was a nice treat! For anyone who really liked the movie -I'd definitely reccomended this series. So funny- and the actors are so PERFECT as the characters they play.. Anytime I'm having a not so great day, I can put on one of my favorite episodes and get lost in it...and it never gets old.

This show is definitely a worthy follow up to the movie, What We Do In the Shadows. I've seen the movie many times and will probably see this show as many times. Because of the accents of the main characters, I have to pay more attention to what they say but it is worth it to listen. Also, there is actually a fourth "vampire" that lives with them. His name is Colin and he is a riot (in a "dull" sort of way). He is actually an "energy" vampire and you really have to watch this to find out what that means. There is a good reason the word "hilarious" is used over and over to describe this show (and its movie predecessor).

I adore What We Do In The Shadows, it's easily one of the best modern comedies. If this review were on content alone, it'd be five stars. Unfortunately, the DVD release as a whole is very barebones, which I don't mind, save for the lack of subtitles. Given the characters' distinct accents, it can be hard to tell what they are saying unless you've seen the episodes dozens of times. Having english subtitles would have been very nice.

This show is a hidden gem. The characters are well written and the plot is funny without being over the top. The comedic timing of the actors couldn't be better and the sets are full of so much detail. Worth a look even if vampires aren't your cup of tea.I will mention (since there are a couple of reviews saying this set is bootleg) that Season 1 is manufacture on demand which is a service that enables companies to offer video content to consumers on recordable DVDs. This is why the DVDs themselves look like the recordable kind anyone can purchase.Manufacture on demand is basically a cheap alternative to a traditional DVD/Blu-ray release as it is only produced on demand, rather than being stored in a warehouse, eliminating inventory. But this means you generally don't get anything fancy and there are no special features.

I loved the movie and the series is almost as good.

If you have a sense of humour, you need to watch this series. A little blood never hurt anyone!
