The author’s sixth book about Joe Dillard does not disappoint. Like all his books it starts off with a bang. It has many elements which the author nicely ties together:1. A Philadelphia monster and a Tennessee “distiller” in the 20s. The mobster has his booze supplier hide something valuable and his supplier agrees. What is it?2. A young, smart, talented athlete whose girlfriend is raped by a serial rapist kills a man he sees raping another woman.3. A young woman lawyer who lives in the mountains of Tennessee with her uncle whose first client needs her to keep his son from having him declared mentally incompetent he can take possession of his father’s land and more importantly, gain access to a fortune.Scott Pratt ties all these elements and more together to deliver a surprise ending. Five stars.

I enjoyed this book a lit. Got a little confusing with mob involved but that didn't make me put it down. Now onto the next one

Clean, interesting, I like the way Scott Pratt writes. He doesn’t use any extra words, yet he weaves a good story.

This series just keeps getting better and better! I stay up way too late reading "just a few more pages" many times. I'm about to download the next one now!

This one is the best yet! They only continue to get better as I read the Joe Dillard series. I’m highly recommending this to anyone who loves a good legal thriller that takes place in rural Tennessee.

I'm on my 6thbook by this author. He's amazing. All of his stories are interesting and keep you guessing. I've only read this many books by the same author once and I've been reading since I was in 3rd grade. I'm retired so that was a while ago.

This book was pure adrenaline from beginning to satisfying conclusion. Yet another Joe Dillard novel that didn't disappoint. Love Dillard warts and all.

It's a page turner, like his other Joe Dillard novels. Anyone who enjoys crime novels should give Scott a try. You won't be disappointed. Amazon has all his Dillard books on Kindle. Do give them a try.

I have read all the Joe Dillard series and they have all been fantastic. Scott Pratt is an excellent writer who gets you involved with all the character, you want to know whats going on in their lives and you really feel their emotions. I tried to make this book last as i love this series but got through it in a few days. It grabbed me from the start and i couldn't wait read what happened next. Can't wait for the next instalment.

Nearly a good as JG. Easy to read. I managed to get through fairly quickly. I just wish the paperbacks were not so expensive.

Love Scott Pratt's books. I've read all the Joe Dillard series and throughtly enjoyed each one. They have all been the kind of books where you tell yourself at midnight "Just a couple more pages....", and then continue to say that for quite some time. Each book has had just the right measure of legal, action and character plots. Please write many more Scott, I for one will certainly look forward to reading them.

Enjoyed this book as with the others, the writing gets you into Joe and his associates lives well. You need to read them in order as they do follow on from one to the other. I have just finished all 6 books in 10 days whilst on holiday and enjoyed them all. Hope there is book 7 around the corner. Recommend this book and the series.
