Best Kids' Bible Out There!
Our whole family LOVES this Bible, and David Suchet's excellent reading of it on the CD's. We bought it for our daughter's 2nd birthday and it is the ONLY thing she wants to listen to in the car (still now, 5 months later). Right now she's sitting in her room listening to it.The two things we love most about this Bible are: (1) it highlights where Jesus is in every story, even how the Old Testament stories foreshadow Him (something that's even easy for us adults to miss! And yet I think this is a crucial way to read the Bible in order to understand that it's all one God, and to see more clearly what He is like), and (2) it reads on a level that's PERFECT for children to understand. We also have the Big Picture Story Bible, and while the pictures are nice and bright, both of us hate reading it to our daughter because the explanations are terrible and it seems to contain a lot of words/descriptions that aren't necessary/helpful, skipping over the heart of some of the stories - we always just show the pictures and tell the stories in our words instead. But the Jesus Storybook Bible does a great job of explaining even stories like Abraham's sacrifice of Isaac (have to say I cringed when I first turned to that story, with my little 2 year-old's wide eyes staring at the page, wondering how I could explain to her that God wanted this daddy to kill his son...?) But Jones does a great job explaining what sacrifices are ("Abraham gave God his animals as presents, to show Him that he loved Him") and even wrapping up the Isaac story (explaining that just like God stopped Abraham because he wanted Isaac to live and not die, so God wanted all his people to live and not die, which is why someday He would send Jesus to die for us instead). Wow!If you were going to get just one Bible for your child - no matter what age - this is the one. And get the deluxe version with CD's - it's so worth it!

Beautifully Conveyed: Brought Me to Tears
Many books that retell biblical accounts simply rehash the essential facts with little life breathed into the retellings. Sally Lloyd-Jones' "Jesus Storybook Bible" is definitely the exception. Written in lyrical yet easy-to-understand prose, the book weaves together multiple threads into an intricate tapestry. The main story is, of course, God's love for all humanity. When man is duped and falls for the insidious poison of Satan's lies, he begins to doubt God's love and turns to his own devices. God orchestrates a courageous plan: one that will bring pain upon Himself, but one in which He is determined to bring forth: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3-16).Woven into this large story are well-known biblical accounts such as Noah's Ark, David and Goliath, Daniel and the Lions' Den and Moses. However, Ms. Lloyd-Jones has done something extraordinary: she has painstakingly shown how each and every story points to Jesus and God's plan to rescue mankind. My favorite story is "The Unpopular Girl," in which a young woman feels unloved and unimportant. She is never asked to places by friends, and she feels unworthy and alone. Who is this woman? None other than Leah, Jacob's first wife, and mother of Judah, (one of Christ's ancestors). I really related to Leah because the story talks of how plain she looked and about her unpopularity. God can use those who appear plain to do incredible works: "Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16).The stories are told in simple language, and the illustrations add brightness and depth. The audio version is read phenomenally by British actor David Suchet, and his Christian beliefs shine through in his delivery. His portrayal of Satan will chill you to the bone, and his portrayal of Jesus will truly inspire you. Give this exceptional book a chance: the perfect tool for introducing young children to the Gospel. God bless you all.(Please look for my fantasy novel, Crimilia, scheduled to be released in April or May. Thanks).

Exceptional True Love Story - The Bible
This was purchased for my grandson’s birthday for something that would last a lifetime and grow with him in his heart. It is so beautifully packaged with the book, CDs and DVDs combined. It tells and celebrates the gift of our Savior Jesus Christ, plus everything that happened from the beginning of God’s Creation, our need of a Savior, to the end of all things, to our Eternity forever home with God where sin, pain, and sickness will never be again, just love, joy, life everlasting with Him and all Believers. So beautifully told, illustrated and narrated. Such a great gift set that will teach the beauty of our Father’s great love for each of us, His sacrifice, and His chance of Redemption for everyone of us to believe and accept His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, our Savior. Great gift set!!

Heirloom quality book!
I bought this book for my little one when she was 3 and it fast became her most requested bedtime story material. We moved during Covid and the book was packed and stored away until recently when I brought it out and put it in her room. She’s almost 9 now and she read this book voraciously cover to cover in just a few days and keeps it on the breakfast table to read with some of her favorites each morning. She loves retelling the stories and the best part is that I didn’t have to ask her to read it, she was drawn to it! The Jesus storybook bible is written and illustrated beautifully and is most definitely a handsome heirloom quality book.
