Packed with info. Succinct and rather briefly written but covers everything I could imagine taking care of a pet parakeet. ❤️

For a first time parakeet owner, this book was great! It also aligned well with the other 6 parakeet books I read so that’s always a good thing!

As a guide book on how to actually keep parakeets, this is a very good title. There is plenty of relevant information and the style is very clear, even dumbed down. The author clearly cares about these little creatures and wants to communicate how to take care of them properly. As a book, it shows signs of hasty production. There are minor typos throughout. The "comprehensive list" of parakeet species doesn't give any kinds from Africa. It also says that Brotogeris parakeets are critically endangered; but there are several species in this group, and most (according to the IUCN Red List) are not endangered at all. Elsewhere the words 'species' and 'type' are used carelessly. So, this is a good keeper's text, but it is not always scientifically accurate.
