So it is a ton of research and I picked this unit out because it works on 5 V not 12 making it much easier to figure out how to power it. I did read if you do use more than one strand on five old, it will start to degrade the brightness. I would say if you need a really long strand of this and you want it to be bright I would probably look at the 12V models. For my small project one strand was perfect.

I've purchased 5 of these strips and they have all performed fantastically. They're bright, they're flexible, and they're versatile. The fact that the light comes out of 2 sides comes in handy for a variety of applications. Mine are currently affixed to an electric guitar, a bass guitar, and a "key"tar, and I'm controlling them wirelessly via ESP8266 chips via Art-Net. Awesome. That being said, if you are going to attempt to glue them to something you will have somewhat of a hard time. After trying the adhesive strip they recommend, Gorilla Glue, Loctite, and 3 other types of super glue, as well as contact cement, none of the above worked and I had to design and 3D print some clips to hold them in place. At least that works. :)

Verry cool lights but DOES NOT come with a remote, any sticky tape, and way to turn it on unless you already have the adapter. It is super bright but be aware the light only come out 1 side so it’s a good outline for something but no “overspray” lighting.

Item description was for a WS2812b strip (5v). Instead, i received a gs1903 based 12v strip. I had to cut the diffusion strip open to find that out, as there is no markings on the packaging or strip. To make things more confusing, the data in side of the strip was on the side with the pig tail leads for power injection, which to me doesnt make sense... its fine if your adding multiple strips, but pointless if you are trying to boost the end of your 2m strip. it would be nice if the bottom of the diffusion cover had the voltage / chipset / data direction marked on it. I had a spare 1a 12v power supply laying around, wouldn't work for my project, but i hooked it up to see the strip brightness and diffusion... its pretty bright, and the diffusion layer works real well - so if your looking for a 12v gs1903 strip but are looking at this listing for some reason, maybe roll the dice cause the price is good

Purchased TWO of these strips. BOTH of them perform EXACTLY THE SAME. Firstly I must say ... These LOOK A-FREAKING-MAZING .. easy to set up .. easy to use remote .. those aspects were fantastic So .. why only 3 stars ? Heres why .. FIRST -1 star - all the product shots show these strips are power inject-able . .the pictures show that the strips have the 2 leads coming back off the connectors so you can wire in power along the strip ... they DO NOT !!!!! My ENTIRE reason for buying these was for the power inject-able aspects as I already own a 5v power supply that would have been more than adequate to power along the injection points ... sadly .. this is NOT the case which leads to my second -1 star ... SECOND -1 star - these strips are only 6.6ft ( 2M ) per strand, but the voltage drop on these are SEVERE ( which i expected since the ad specifically says they are WS2812B RGB 4020 LEDs and i would assume they are the side emitting type ) , but, the color dropoff to red was even moreso than I would have assumed they would be, covering the latter QUARTER of BOTH STRIPS that I purchased. That drop off in color accuracy is which makes the fact they arent power injectable even more of a tragedy, cause as I said, they LOOK AMAZING out of the box I will be keeping these and just wire in my own injectable power, but, its still a hassle and might have dissuaded me from getting the soft silicone sleeved version and simply gotten some strips and put them in channels to acheive the same effect. SO, in conclusion, buyer be ware. You may have to wire in your own power infusion to get uniform light even if you are only using ONE STRIP, but, the end result is TRULY amazing

Used these inside of a custom headlight set for a 2014 Mustang. The strip is completely solid with not cutoff points. Makes for a clean install. Unlike some other brands that you can see each individual led; these blend seamlessly. Also these car be cut. I cut both ends off, slid the led strip out, then cut them to length so I can see the cut off points. The strip slides in and out the silicone fairly easy. Ig: JUST_A_JK

Bright and beautiful. Needs power at both ends for full brightness. 5V There are at least two variants, one with a flat surface and the other rounded.

This product works exactly as advertised. Be forewarned not able to cut to length (like most strips), but that was not a big deal for my project.

Dissappointing, have same problem as another review. Only 30cm of the strip lights up..
