Should include a loop jag.
Well built rod. Will work as advertised, just wish it came with a loop jag so I wouldn't have to rob one from my other cleaning kit. Brushes are easy to find at most box stores that sell shooting supplies but the jags aren't so easy to find. Most people will opt for a whole cleaning kit rather than order a single loop jag from one of the big shooting warehouses. I do like the fact that all the threads are standard and you can use the handle section as a handgun cleaning rod as well as a rifle rod.I am interested in how well the PVC coating will do in the rifle bore in time. As a completive shooter we always used polished stainless steel rods to avoid possible grit that could become embedded in the old brass GI rods and scratch the bore. Thin rods suitable for .22 barrels will some times flex in the bore and make contact with the bore while pushing brushes or tight patches through the barrel. I will most likely PULL the brushes or patches though the barrel to avoid that flex. I may never know how prone to picking up grit this rod is as it will go in a field kit with a bore snake and may not get used very often. I also wipe the cleaning rod after every trip down the bore to clean any grit that may have been picked up form the bench, table, chair, tailgate or what ever surface I find myself cleaning my rifle on.I have given the product four stars due to the fact that it comes without a loop jag. I knew this when I ordered the rod but can't believe a matching jag would add significantly more to the price of the rod. As is the rod meets my needs and I will recommend it to anyone needing a 3 piece light duty cleaning rod.

Should kinda work for the price
It seemed like a good deal, and should kinda work for the price; however, it doesn't seem like it will last to long. One section where the rods thread together don't align to well, because one section is a little wobbly and wants to droop. The stainless rod is pvc coated, but the brass unions where they thread together are not coated, and it's out of alignment enough to scrape the bore while in use. I will be getting a one piece rod as soon as I can, but can definitely use this for pistols or short barreled rifles, because it's just one union of the three piece rod, and the other two are tight enough for now. It definitely has its uses for the price, just not what you would expect. I would buy again, just not for a long barreled rifle.

Best multi-part rod I've come across.
This rod is worth more than the price, especially when compared to Outers, Hoppes, etc. rods you by off the shelf at Wal-mart and most sporting goods stores. The feature that stands out first and foremost: the rods are all threaded like Jags, Brushes, and Swabs. You can use whatever length is appropriate, not just a rod with no handle, or two rods together when you don't need three. The PVC coating is also a nice touch, as well as the all brass collars and male thread ends. The diameter is spot on, and it follows the bore with no collar or rod drag. I greatly recommend this rod set. No, you don't get cleaning tips with it, but the ones in the cheap kits are junk (plastic jags and eyes are always prone to bend and break, and the aluminum wound brushes and swabs suck), and you'll end up buying more tips anyways.

Be very careful using this product sections misaligned
I purchased this to carry in my range box because I have lost, left at the range, several one piece cleaning rods sitting in gun racks. I recently installed a new barrel and wanted to break it in by cleaning the barrel several times during the break in. At first I did not notice that the connections for the sections were not aligned leaving a sharp edge . To anyone who wants to take care of their barrel knows that the connection points, if not properly aligned, will damage the bore, throat, and/or crown. After I noticed the misalignment, I used great care in its use. I would have stopped but I was at the range and felt that cleaning during break in outweighed the possible damage. Also, I noticed that the sections and whatever tip I had on the rod would, after a couple of passes, start to unscrew. Yes I was holding it by the handle and despite tightening it, it still on one occasion completely separated leaving the tip in the barrel. The PVC coating would shred off against my new Muzzle Brake. I only continued to use it becasue I was miles from home, at the range and setting up a build with a new barrel. I would have preferred a steel one-piece over this unit. I hope that I was able to use it and not damage my new barrel. As an aside, I received two emails from the company asking for a good review and had I immediately responded I would not have known the problems.

Great cleaning rod
I'm very happy with this purchase. I have a .22lr revolver that I bought this for. Initially, I'd tried using one of those cleaning kits (brass rod, plastic attachments, and solvents and lube I'll never use), but the rod was very snug and if the initial alignment with the bore/cylinder wasn't perfect, I would scrape the edge while inserting the rod. This rod, on the other hand, leaves a bit of space between the rod and bore/cylinder, making it much easier to insert and move. The PVC coating makes me feel better about accidental scrapes while in the bore.I also bought a few 8-32 attachments, which all fit. Note that each segment will take attachments so you can use this for both handguns and rifles. Other reviews mention misaligned segments, but I had no such issue.I would buy this and brass attachments separately than one of those cleaning kits.

Tac Clean Rod Review
I have not been able to use the new cleaning rod as yet due to illness that has kept me off the range. I ordered the cleaning rod because of the PVC coating and it appears to be quality, however, that will be determined when used. I will probably use this item in a couple of weeks if you wish to follow back with me then. I finally used the rod today on a 22 rifle and it worked great. I like the brass joints...no fear of scratching. Worth the money.

Good product
The joints could be better at being collinear / coaxial (lining-up) so that the corners of the brass connectors won't catch on the muzzle. Overall, it's a good product. I like the fact that I can use standard jags with any of the ends; in other words, I can use one, two, or three lengths. This is very helpful for using the rod on a wide variety of barrel lengths.
