Good strings - Bright - medium tension - great modern sound
Great bass strings for slapping and a more modern sound. I put these on my EBMM Stingray and they sound great. I watched a bunch of videos mainly comparing Nickel Strings to Stainless Steel and decided that I wanted the brighter sound of the Stainless steel strings. I also ordered the light gauge strings 40-100 as I felt that they would be great for slapping (as opposed to the standard 45-105). Ultimately I am very pleased with the strings. They are bright. They speak well and have good tone across all ranges. They make that "rubbery-metallic-Seinfeld bass" slap sound that I wanted. if you want a deep, classic sound, these can work but there are better options for that. I play a lot of '80s stuff and wanted a sort of Duran Duran/Power station sort of sound.

Bright and punchy on P-bass
From now on, I will be putting the stainless steel strings on all of my basses. I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger and bought these. I was hesitant after reading some things online about stainless steel strings being rough to the field, and fret wear. When I pulled these out of the package to string them up, I did notice that they felt a bit rougher and I was concerned about it, but when I put them on my instrument I did not notice this roughness at all. The tone is phenomenal. Very bright and snappy, excellent for clanking out some metal or punk. My bass is a p-based style, with one p bass pickup, which as you might know is fairly bottom and heavy. These strings brought it to life, and how! I am finding that I no longer have to mess with my EQ settings nearly as much after recording to get the bass to sit right in the mix. If you find that your bass guitar is missing that little bit of an extra edge, please do try these strings. I also find that these strings are a great value but that's just my humble opinion.

These things last twice as long as nickel strings and your hands don’t smell like pennys

Only strings I use
Great strings. I use these on my Getty Lee Fender Jazz Bass, Wal MK-ll and on my 5 string Ibanez SR-450. I’m running on a Mesa Boogie Buster Bass 200 on 2x15s thru a couple rack effects for a personalized tone. I typically like to run a powerful mid sound that growls and these steel strings are PERFECT.! Clear punchy tone and harmonics that ring for days. I honestly no longer use any other strings. I do wish there was a 5th string option for my 5 string bass but I probably wouldn’t use the 5th string anyways, it’s just my bass looks silly w/out that 5th string. My personal favorite strings. Thanks Ernie Ball
