Good but not up to previous standards
So, mixed feelings for Saladin Ahmed's first volume. I loved the theme of family, especially father's love. Kamala's voice still sounds true to what we're used to as do her supporting cast. I didn't love Kamala stepping out of Jersey City in such grand fashion. And I didn't like the ramifications of that trip. Without spoiling anything I thought it was cheap and lazy. I still have faith the series will go in a good direction though. The art by Minkyu Jung was very good. Overall, still a good book but a significant step down from what has come before.

Magnificent Indeed
Beautifully illustrated and well written, I am really enjoying this run of Ms. Marvel thus far. Likeable characters, great action sequences, a touching story and more than a few laughs. I look forward to what happens next!

SALADIN AHMED’S MS. MARVEL IS AMAZING!
I wish they had comic books like Ms. Marvel when I was a child and a teenager. I know that I had Spider Man but Ms. Marvel is a superhero that a young girl like me would have totally identified with.

It's an exciting time to be a fan of Kamala Khan. If you've been one, then you'll be pleased to know that this volume shows how much Saladin Ahmed really cares about pushing her forward. She feels a lot like the girl you might've known from G. Willow Wilson's run, but bolder and more confident. I can't wait to see where she goes from here. (And if you're new to her - "No Normal" is essential, but this is a great point for you to pick up on her story)

This is a great jumping on point for new readers, and a seamless transition from the classic GWW run. Everyone should read this!!

Brilliant and Scintillating Volume!!
This graphic novel is fantastic and original. It is superb. It is easy to read and follow. Saladin Ahmed writes with a consumate ease. The storyline is wonderful and quite dramatic. This has to be one of he best Ms. Marvel graphic novels I have ever read. The artwork is top-notch and is fabulous. Saladin Ahmed captures the ethnicity of Kamala and her family magnificently. He has created a terrific volume. Well done, Saladin Ahmed! This volume should prove to be the first of many fine creations.
