LixitChicken Feeder and Water Fountain, 128oz (Chickens, Single), White/tan, 671304

There are two in my flock - one that picks another's rear end feathers and another that endlessly harasses a fellow chicken - that need to wear chicken glasses (pinless peepers) for an extended amount of time. This water (and feed!) feeder is perfect for those girls with glasses -- and for the other girls, too. In fact, they can all literally "stand around the water cooler" and drink together! Nice, large container that is easy to clean (I use soapy water and a small grout brush for the rim edges). Really appreciate the gallon size container in 90+ degree weather, too, where the chickens will drink enough to empty the container in a couple of days.

This convertible feeder/water fountain does the trick for my little chickens. I like that it is clear so you can see how much water you have left in the container. It's brightly colored and while the chickens don't seem to care (they're indifferent to my hard work as their interior designer) I think it's cute. The plastic isn't heavy duty so I don't think it'll handle abuse very well but, luckily, my chickens are pretty chill, so I think it will last awhile. My only issue was screwing the lid on. I mean, how hard could it be, right? It isn't THAT hard (hence the 5 star review) but if the threads don't line up exactly right, you may end up soaked. I also like the size. It holds a gallon of water for those of you that can't convert oz to gallons. It holds the weight well with the wide base and I haven't had any problems with it being knocked over. Overall, I think it's a great product and recommend it if you have a few chill chickens that just want water.

I like the idea it can be used for food or water. I wish though it was a little bigger especially for the price. I will probably be buying another one Update: this waterer does not leak which is a plus but for some reason it always has a oder and slime inside.i can wash it with soap and bleach everyday and everyday it's the same slimy and stinks. After using it awhile Im not sure if I will be buying another one.

I love these feeders so much that I have bought 2 of them and plan to get 2 more. The fact that they are used for both water and feed is an awesome idea. Built very well and easy to keep clean.... Not to mention they look good also....Love them...

We actually got two of these and they are rather solid compared to a few different feeders and water fountains we have gotten. They work wonderfully for water, do not tip over easily, and they are easy to clean and sanitize! They are good if you have a small flock of about 4 birds or so. We have issues with using them as feeders. they get clogged no matter the kind of food we use. The chickens get frantic and knock them around then till they get the lid off! Smart chickens! Of course this makes a huge mess. I think part of the issue could be that we live in Georgia and the humidity is very very high. There is also no easy way to hang this water/feeder as many people with back yard chickens like to do. As always, your mileage may vary. Better than most but maybe not suited for all.

I love this chicken feeder. Can be used for either food or water by reversing the base. It's inexpensive but works much better than the red bottomed gallon waterers. The bottom stays on and try can take the occasional drop without breaking. I have about 20 f these and use them in my baby pens and they're great.

I bought this as a water container for my chickens and i really like it. I have 25 chickens right now and it seems to last about three days, which is great. There is no spill when you flip it into place which is also nice and the water fills the base slowly so you have time to put it into place without making a mess. I did notice however, that if you use shavings they do collect quite easily in the bottom of the water container and you have to scoop them out often; but that's more to do with the baby chicks being little scratching/digging pests than anything else.
