HUMAX HDR-1100S 1TB Freesat with Freetime HD TV Recorder - Black (Renewed)

Good, simple GUI, just a shame Channel 4 have not linked up their app too. Works well but be aware you can not record to a USB to port video around. This feature is only available on earlier models.

The unit arrived by Royal Mail, well packaged and one day early. The package contained the HUMAX HDR 1100S 1TB recorder and power supply, a YouView Remote control, a HDMI lead and a Let’s Get Started User Guide. The recorder, purchased as Renewed, looked brand new, in excellent condition with no visible marks on the cover and all the warranty seals in place. The YouView remote was not the original HUMAX remote but as I was replacing an old HUMAX 1000S the original HUMAX remote worked fine with the new recorder. The reason for replacing the 1000S was the unit was old and becoming unreliable. The connections to the unit were easy and the set up very straightforward, just follow the on-screen instructions. Once your Post Code is entered the unit searches for all appropriate TV and radio channels available. The connection to the Internet was also straightforward for both Ethernet connection and Wi-Fi. The recording function worked well and was also easy to set up via the on-screen TV Guide. I am very pleased with the unit; the HD picture quality is excellent via the live feed and via a recorded programme. There are a couple of minor niggles. The Standby/ On LED, which is at the centre of the unit but underneath and is very hard to see. Also the top cover, after a day’s operation, becomes quite warm to the touch. I hope this does not affect the long term reliability of the unit. Overall the recorder is a great buy and I would fully recommend this 1100S from Chigwell Satellite.

Works as advertised, the packaging was pristine, but the product was scuffed and marked. Don’t know how this happened. As the product is hidden and working correctly I have not sent it back.

Had to return it as I could not format the Hard Drive! So unable to use. Returned on 28/01/26 Still awaiting credit to my credit card!

A neat, sleek item which was easy to instal and set up and works very well. One MAJOR negative. Who would ever design a set-top box with no read-out panel on the front to show when it is operating. When you switch on the only indication it is running is a tiny dull led placed UNDER the machine. If you make the room dark you can just about see the red light change to blue if you have excellent eyesight. What was wrong with the old Humax with a panel on front lit up to show when on, when recording, what station etc. A BIG step back by Humax.

Received well packed and in "as new" condition. Not a mark on it. Very pleased with the purchase and delivery time (a day earlier than expected). I would happily recommend the vendor. 10/10.

So far so good. Purchased to replace one from around 2012 that had died.
