The best purchase I've ever made on a bicycle, to save money.
It's honestly perfect. There are a lot of 1 stars on this but that comes from people not knowing what they're doing. It's 100% hard to put on and it's not going to be easy, but I've had these on multiple bikes and the only time I've had to replace a tube, was because I was stupid installing it or pumping it up too much. I would spend so much on tubes before buying these and now it's just because of user error, when a flat happens. Not from riding on the road. I've ridden over metal sheets, hit unexpected raises in sidewalk that sent me jumping and landing hard, and ridden through many a construction site without issue. No pinch flats from the drops, no punctures from the debris, no leakage from the the tube if installed correctly. I had a dime sized hole in my tire last winter, for the entire winter. I get tires locally and they were closed but I still rode all winter with a hole in my tire, and this protected it perfectly fine. The thickness of the insert helped perfectly and the feel of it was perfect. The only downside to it is that it adds to your wheel weight, but that's something made up for in pedaling and getting used to it. Otherwise the functionality is perfect. If you don't know what you're doing, have a shop help you. If you're confident, then make sure that when everything is attached, you make sure that the insert is properly rested in the rim. I had to use a tire lever to help feed it in but it works. Just be careful pumping it because it should be about 10-20psi under what it normally gets pumped up to.

Best addition to my bike I've ever made!
I was tired of having frequent flat tires on my bicycle. I've ran slime in the tubes for years, but eventually I would still get flats. Grass burs and goat heads are the primary causes for my area. Once a tube with slime sprung a leak, they have been impossible to get a patch to stick. I tried going back to regular tubes but that didn't last a week. Next I tried Slime's tube liners. They were pretty good, but not long enough to cover 29" tires and tubes. I still got occasional flats. Finally I decided to try these. Yes, they are difficult to install. They are not impossible to install though, and worth every penny and the time to install. The technique is the most important, but it also takes some hand strength to get them stuffed inside the tire. Now that they are both installed, I expect it to be years before I have another flat tire. I can't tell any difference in the rolling resistance or handling. I can't feel the little bit of added weight at all when riding. I actually think they have improved riding over bumps. My bike now has less bounce and more dampening. Even though these are expensive, I highly recommend them! Update: it's been around 10 months since I installed these. I ride almost daily, typically 2 to 3 times a day when I walk my dog. I have not had a single flat tire in those 10 months! I've had to add air to the tires twice now, only because tubes naturally lose air over long periods of time. Before these, I would have a flat tire at least once a month. If these have saved me 10 tube repairs or replacements, they have paid for themselves considering my time plus the cost of tubes. The fact that I haven't headed out the door with my dog only to find a flat tire is basically priceless. Get these! They work!

Avoid customer service and online instructions
The product seems to work since I haven’t had a flat while riding but, I may not have encountered something that would have punctured the tire. Like many reviews, I had difficulty installing the liner with the tube size and process recommended on the packaging. I decided to purchase 3 additional sets for the rest of my family’s bikes . This time I purchased directly from Tannus and chose to purchase the tubes with the liners.. The tubes cost $14 each which we all know is above market pricing. I assumed the tubes they provided would install easier. When I received the liner and tubes, the tubes were 25x1.0. The tubes recommend on the package are 26x1.95. I assumed Tannus knew better and proceeded to install them on one tire using the minimum pressure recommended on the tire. As I hoped, they were much easier to install. Within a day however, I awoke to find the tire tube split. It was not a puncture. It was a slice or split of the tube near the valve stem. I assumed I had done something wrong and repeated installation with the same tube size sent. Again, installation went smoothly. After taking the bike for a test ride around the block, all seemed fine. As I began to pack up my tools, I heard a “pop” and the tube deflated. I disassembled the tire and found a split in the exact same place as the last. I reached out to Tannus costumer service via email. After a few exchanges, I questioned whether they actually sent the correct tubes since, they were significantly smaller than the recommended tube. I was told that during Covid, they had difficulty getting the recommended size and began substituting the 25” tube for the 26” tube they recommend on their packaging. They had not had any problems and continued to supply them beyond the Covid emergency period. I was told to lower the pressure 10% below the recommended pressure on the tire. I had not done that and asked why all this was not included on the package. They said they are working on it but, I could find the recommended pressure modification buried in the instructions online. I reminded the representative that the supply chain issues due to Covid had mostly passed and I could source practically any size tube from multiple suppliersz, Now, I don’t think it is unusual to follow instructions on the packaging. When I had the initial incident, I checked videos online and none mentioned this modification of the printed package instructions. Tannus suggested my issue was related to my location in California where it is regularly over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Regardless, Tannus replaced three tubes after I paid $10 for shipping. I had paid $10 shipping with the original order. Now, knowing I needed to install the tubes differently, I proceeded to install them following the new instructions buried online , By the way, the new instructions do not mention the reduced tube size. After installing the new tubes, the same event occurred. This time after I put my tools away. Since the original installation with the recommended tube on the package did not have a problem. I purchased new tubes recommended on the package rom Amazon and installed the tube using process recommended on the package. The new tubes did not split and to this day have not failed. I contacted Tannus and requested they replace the tubes with ones recommended on the packaging. I was told they do not have those in stock and do not have a date they would be available. After several emails, I offered to return the tubes for a refund. They said I was welcome to return the tubes if I paid shipping but they would not credit or replace them. The same position was taken regarding the liners as well. At one point the representative told me they had done me a favor replacing the tubes with the smaller tubes for the shipping cost alone.Since I now own the liners and tubes exclusively, the tubes are on the shelf and, I have installed the liners with the tube size and process recommended on the packaging. I have not had any problems since. So I recommend you follow the instructions on the package and avoid their customer service. I can’t comment on the performance since I can’t insure I have run into an event that would have given me a flat. I inspect the tires often while maintaining the recommended tire pressure embossed on the tire. I will never order any product from Tannus.

Fantastic once installed but brutal instal
Brutal to install. You need plastic coated metal ply bar and the trick that worked after days of struggle is to soak the final section in really hot water. Wish someone told me that. I had to figure it out on my own after tearing the skin off my hands.

It's been about a year and I've only gotten 2 flats. Now before hand I was averaging almost 2 flats a month. I believe it was a rim issue and I fixed it. Still I would save i love the safety this protector gives me. I was running the wrong size tube for almost 8 months now (making it more susceptible to pinch flats) and it still lasted a good 6 months now flats. Important to mention I'm on an ebike with backpacks on it can get real heavy. Handles it, plus when I do get a flat saves the rim from getting bent. My knucklehead family member decided to bike home on the flat and didn't even notice!
