Highly recommended, these pants are awesome for hot humid weather!
I love these pants! I live at the coast, it gets very hot and humid and regularly I have been using the Convertible style for years from spring until fall and have yet to wear out a pair! I got a new job a few years ago and my boss won’t let me wear shorts. This year I told him that I had to have something cooler to wear. He said as long as it wasn’t shorts he was okay with it. I knew exactly what to get. These fit the bill perfectly, are great for summer and have a 50 SPF rating! A lot cooler than the poly/cotton chino style uniform pants I have been wearing year round. These paired with Columbia Omni Freeze T-shirts, polos and their lightweight vented Tamiami shirts have made a huge difference in my comfort this summer and I get compliments from coworkers that they look nice. The boss hasn’t said anything. The material is very durable to be so lightweight, and dries very fast if they get wet for any reason. Tons of pockets keep everything in place. Two deep slash front pockets in the front, when I say deep I mean like almost mid thigh deep(one of my favorite features nothing ever falls out when sitting down, more on that later), two fairly deep rear pockets with Velcro flaps, and two fairly deep side leg cargo pockets(easily will close with regular iphone in a case and probably would with Max), left side has a zipper which I normally leave unzipped for quick access to my cellphone, and the right one has Velcro flap. My only complaints are occasionally the waist seems a little tighter and the front slash pockets aren’t as deep on a pair compared to other pairs I own. The waist is very minimal and still wearable in my regular size, however the front pockets from my best measurements can be as much 1.5-2” difference. Just be sure to try them on before taking tags off, just like any Columbia clothing their sizes can vary from one item to the next. These have overall been true to size in waist and length. Highly recommended 5 star warm weather pants!

Very nice pants.
I normally wear 34x31 in jeans. I bought several of the Pilsner Peak, the Silver Ridge, and Blood and Guts pants for comparison. Pilsner Peak pants: Fits a bit slim. Especially at the waist. Probably closer to 33 inches than 34. It rides a bit lower on the hip than the Silver Ridge and therefor a bit snug in the crotch. The length are the same. The Pilsner Peak are closer in style to a typical dress pants. Just one extra slot for pen or knife. The rear pocket is not flapped. The fit at the thigh is good for me. I have medium/thin thighs and it's not snug, but just right. If you have large thighs, you'll find these might be too slim. The leg then drops stragith. Material is woven, feels very nice. It's light material. I like it more than the nylon feeling of the Silver Ridge pants. Silver Ridge pants: the fit is very similar toe the Pilsner fit in that it's a bit slim. There's more pockets at the thight and the rear pockets are flapped. There is an elastic waist. It does come with a pretty cheap but functional 1 inch nylon belt. It rides just a bit higher on the hips than the Pilsner and the fit makes your butt look better. The material is more of a typical nylon feel. Not as comfy as the Pilsner but is still very comfrotable overall. Blood and guss: much looser fit from the hip down. If you want lots of flexibility in movement, this is your pants. The waist is a bit slim like the other two pants. There is minimal elasticity. The material is the thickest of the 3. Doesn't mean it's thick, just a bit thicker of the 3. Still a summer pants. Because the fit is loose on my thighs and lower legs, these are my least favorite of the 3 pants.

Good for a little bit
Pants fit well and are super comfortable and lightweight. I had an issue where it ended up ripping along a seam after repeated use. I think it was great but just didn’t last as long as I wanted it to.

Perfect Summer Pants – Lightweight, Comfortable, and Sharp Looking
I bought five pairs of the Columbia Men’s Silver Ridge Cargo Pants, and I couldn’t be happier. The 36x30 fit exactly as I hoped—true to size with no surprises. They’re incredibly lightweight and breathable, making them perfect for hot summer days. Honestly, they’re almost as comfortable as wearing shorts, but with a much classier and more put-together look. Ideal for staying cool while still looking sharp. Highly recommend these for anyone looking for practical, stylish summer wear.

Best hot weather casual summer trousers ever.
Urban female who walks a lot here - I’m happy with these. (Mens pants are more comfortable and usually made better, hence the choice.). Lightweight, flattering - they come up to the waist as pants should and have fabulous deep pockets you would never find on a pair of women’s trousers. They run small - I added a couple of inches to my waist measurement to figure the size - any extra fabric gets cinched with the belt and makes for a flattering fit that is nice and roomy. You can fit your phone and your keys in the pockets, they sink way in. Paired with a scoop-necked snug sleeveless T, an open oversized light-weight long-sleeved shirt, broad-brimmed summer hat, sunglasses, a good pair of sneakrs, and a large over the shoulder bag from ManhattanPortage to carry water bottle, emergency snacks, sweater and a light-weight shawl for places with A/C.

These used to be high quality. No more.
I have purchased 4 pairs of these over the last 6 years. The latest ones were nowhere near the same quailty as the 3 purchased in the past. The fit is good and the material is the same. But the workmanship is poor. After washing one time, I put them on and when I went to zip, felt a loop of thread. When I pulled it, the entire seam from crotch to both knees ripped out! The lack of colors suggests they are phasing these out. Probably down to the bottom of the barrel. I would definitely not buy these again, and unfortunately, it now makes me concerned about any Columbia purchase. Too bad.

I like them so much, I just bought more.
I've worn them about 100 times since buying them. They seem rather durable. I only had to mend one seam, one time, but I carry a fair amount in the various pockets. There's only one small thing I'd recommend they change, which I did... I added a larger piece of velcro on the pocket (not the flap) that already has velcro. This way, when I put a lot of stuff in that pocket, I don't have to pay as close attention to closing the pocket. The current velcro is a pretty small strip, but recycling velcro from some destroyed clothing or whatever, a needle and thread is just a few minutes to improve that pocket. I was hesitant on the durability of the other pocket's zipper, but that has held up well. For me, the pockets are in a good location and don't annoy me when full while walking/hiking. I can carry enough on my belt and in my pockets that I could go for a day hike with just a water bottle in my hand and feel fine about needing to survive an over-night in the mountains. Comfortable and durable. Fabric isn't loud and somewhat water resistant. Belt loops still intact. No holes worn through yet. EDIT: I forgot to mention that because of my tree-trunk-like-legs, I ordered one size up in both waist and length. But I do this with most pants, so I'm guessing these pants are a "normal" fit. If you're in doubt, go a size larger... you can always use a belt... and if you want a base layer underneath for colder days, then you can do that. WEATHER The other day, I was wearing these pants and no base layer with 30*F (0*C) and felt too cold. It was only bad when I stopped moving and the wind picked up, so a base layer would've been a good idea from 15-35*F. I have also worn these pants in 100*F heat and they've been fine... the best pants I've worn in the heat. But I also prefer the added protection of long pants (sun, thorny bushes, bugs), so I'll tolerate sweating to the protection, but these were fine, wicked and cool acceptably.
