Eastwood EAS21145 Contour SCT

I have put this through the paces and am very pleased with the quality of the tool. It works well at stripping outer layers of paint from cars but does struggle with the factory paint. I suppose this is more a testament to the quality of the factory paint process.

I bought this tool to resurface and remove the rust from my table saw, band saw, and drill press. It works fantastic! Great 👍 tool!

The right tool for the job makes work fun. The tool has some weight to it, but it does such an amazing job, It cuts the time in half. So fun to use. Best purchase this year.

I’ve got maybe 10 different sanders, from belt to disks to blocks. This bests them all. I’ve so far done a load of fencing, 2 decks, and a huge wall of siding. If you push firmly with the black paint removing drum, you can bare wood in one pass.One tip- if the drum is bidirectional, flip it over if it wears to one side. Once you wear the other side down a little you end up with a drum that sticks out in the middle, which is actually really useful when sanding siding that is concave in the middle.

Nice I use this for multiple sanding and surfacing tasks. Mostly metal work. Works well with wire brush on rough and dirty wood.It won’t replace a belt sander on wood.Be creative.

Machine is a lot bigger than I imagined. It’s also heavy and not ideal for small items. Sanding drums are about 4” in diameter and are not balanced very well, so hopping is a bit of an issue, so you need to run machine on low to avoid the bouncing. Maybe after a high speed “surfacing /balancing “ it will smooth out but at that point you have worn away a good amount of the wheel.. I bought 3 different grit wheels, unfortunately I can’t tell what grit is what with out feeling and guessing fine to course, wheels are not labeled. Other than that once you figure these issues out, it provides a nice brushed grain on flat aluminum, steel takes a little longer. This is the best choice of the tools I looked at, mostly because of the offset gear head that centers your pressure on the work. I other tools wee basically angle grinder with the head turned 90 degrees and then added an adapter for the special graining wheels. I only wish they made a smaller setup for use on small items like motorcycle frames and hard to reach areas. Overall I’m happy with the purchase after some practice, and happy with the quality.
