The picture of this lamp doesn't do it justice. They are gorgeous! The description is off a bit, though. Base of lamp is 6.25" x 6.25", lamp shade is 4.75" in diameter, and the lamp has an overall height of 18 5/8". The lamp takes a type B light bulb, the sticker on the felt covered bottom says up to 40W.I ordered a pair of them in Walnut for my nightstands in my Asian/Zen themed master bedroom and they are perfect. They were very well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. The lamps have an inline rocker switch on a black cord that is very easy to operate. The shade is a stiff paper wrapped with a linen-like fabric with a nice texture to it. The top of the bulb is about 10.5" from the bottom of the tube, which does not come out, so you will need to be able to get your hand in there to screw the bulb in. I got 25W type B candelabra bulbs for mine, and they give a nice soft light to the room. If you're looking for a reading lamp, these are not for you, but if you want a gentle ambiance and Zen feel, you'll be very happy with these.

Very nice looking lamp - however arrived with dented shade and damaged base. Tried it out anyway. Nice,soft lighting BUT gets very hot very quickly! I only used a 40W chandelier bulb (recommended), yet it got so hot in less than 5 minutes, I would be worried it could cause a fire. Would not buy again.

Theses lamps look more expensive than the picture. The shade feels like a canvas, off white in color. It takes chandelier bulbs. I used a 40 watt bulb. The socket is deceiving because it looks as if a bulk should be push in, not turned in. Home Depot has something similar, not as nice and it's more expensive. The actual shade is 18 inches and the dark wood base is about an inch high.

Adore it! It's soft lighting and simply pretty. The light bulbs it takes are common and can be found in any store. Just think of the kind you'd get for a hanging lamp over the dining table with the small size screw in end, if that makes sense. lol It's in the directions. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.

This lamp was a gift for my friend and I have never seen it personally. But he liked it so much that he ordered one more of the same kind!

this is my 2nd time ordering this item. the first time that I purchased it I only bought 1. Years later I have came back for the second. The first one is still working and matches the setting in my room. It just needed a spouse

It's a beautiful lamp and reasonably priced. Casts a nice soft light. I ordered twice and both were damaged in shipping.
