Worth the money, works great!
This headset was given to me as a gift from my girlfriend. It just showed up at my house one clear day and so I have been testing it out these past few days. I hope to add more information to this review as there is only one review that is currently there. In this review I will talk about looks, stability(and comfort), the microphone, and the headphones.Looks:This headset has a clear cut and great look. I admit, when I first saw the square ear cups, I was a bit worried that it would either be too large and would slide too much or would just feel off when worn for a long period of time. There is a metal frame to the whole headset that gives it a strong finish in the light of my room. The headset connects through a removable jack and that is something that I have come to require in any headset I buy. The Thermaltake logo on the side is a nice touch to the black outside and matches the red inside. The headband cradles your head and makes it comfortable for some gaming sessions.Stability and Comfort:I am currently wearing the headset as I write this. It fits well on my head without feeling too tight or putting pressure on the top where the band is. I have an Audio-Technica M40x as well and when I wear it for a prolonged period of time, it sets a bit of pressure on the top of my head that becoming uncomfortable. I have played a few gaming sessions that lasted around 3-4 hours each and found that this headset in particular does not cause that uncomfortable feeling. It covers my head and applies a gentle bit of pressure that allows me to keep playing. Unlike my Audio-Technica headphones, I have not had to move them back and forth on the top of my head yet. This headset also covers my ears fully and after the initial slide, it stays in place and comes off easily when I need it to.The microphone:I also have Audio-Technica ATR-2500USB microphone that is on its last legs. When I speak on it, people can hear me well though they can easily tell the distance of how far away I am from that microphone. I have spoken with two people so far on this headset and the reviews have been good. The first person told me that it sounded like I was in their head and that when I spoke, they could hear me loud and clear. The second person told me that it sounded like I was there right beside them speaking which is a good thing to hear when gaming. The headphones:I have not had a chance to test this with any music so far, that will likely be on the update to this review. What I have tested this on are three games. Stellaris, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and Battlefield 1.Stellaris: The soundtrack of this game is amazing. It sounds good and covers all the instruments and balances that out well with the game audio.MW3: I can hear footsteps. I can hear teammates and enemy footsteps from the angle that they are coming from. I've been able to ambush people while playing and win many engagements by getting the drop on them. This headset gives me an advantage over someone listening to speakers at their desk.Battlefield 1: The whole sound melds together in this one. I can hear footsteps and gunfire. I can locate things without looking at the map if it is close enough. I am still new to the game so I can't give full details yet.Anyways that is all for now, Thank you for your time and I am glad that I got this headset. The comfort, microphone, and headphone portions all make it worth while.
