Very good, for the price
I bought these to replace a full hood for periodic welding tasks, and I'm extremely pleased with them overall. I paid less than $10 with shipping, they were to me in a reasonable time, and they were pretty much exactly as described.Pros: The flip-up outer lenses are extremely handy, much easier than my full hood. The lenses are mounted behind a simple retaining ring that required no special tools to remove, thus allowing me to swap out with other lenses of the appropriate size.Cons: The clear inner lenses are cheap plastic and have an odd bevel along the edge that distorts your view.I simply removed the inner elements. I'll be replacing them at some point with the glass from a pair of UV photography filters (such as Tiffen 52mm UV Protection Filter ), since impact resistance is not a requirement. I haven't measured yet, but the lenses appear to be approximately 52mm.In my opinion the price is definitely right on these goggles, and I surely recommend them.

Sweet goggles
I purchased these goggles because I wanted something I could wear for my Halloween costume (the Engineer from TF2) and still have for when I wanted to do some oxy-acetylene work. They were a real hit among partygoers, and they fit really well over my eyeglasses. The flip-up lenses were also really handy for bumbling around in the dark.My two very minor complaints:1. The strap has a tendency to pull out of its supports when it's under tension, but I got around that by sizing it to my head and then pinning it in place. Not really a big deal, but it's a bit of a pain to put the straps back in.2. The goggles have a tendency to fog up. I wasn't really expecting much in the way of ventilation for a $5 pair of welding goggles (looks like Amazon overstocked on Halloween because they're down to $2.50 a pair now) but it did affect my ability to wear them for a long period of time.

Pay close attention to the color
Beware! The showcase pictures led me to believe these goggles were blue, but that's only reflected light. The PVC frame is actually a dark green with a hint of teal. Very nice color, but not what I was expecting. (I'm putting together a costume that's predominately blue and thought these would enhance it; I bought these Hobart 770096 Welding Oxy-Acetylene - 50mm Eye Cup goggles a few months ago and will use those again instead.) They also don't lay like normal glasses, wanting instead to roll onto the lenses when they're placed on a flat surface. They're not as easy to see out of as the Hobart goggles either, clear and dark lenses both. For the price, I will probably keep them; the flip feature is nice and there's definite modding potential. But I believe the pictures are a tiny bit deceptive and that there are better goggles out there.

Pretty good, especially for the price
I got these goggles for a costume I was making and they are very good. They can fit comfortably on your head all day, and you can easily see out of them. I tended to keep them on my forehead most of the time, but they are comfortable over the eyes as well. The one downside is that I found that I had difficulty with the adjustable strap -- it would come out sometimes and then the goggles would fall off. After a while, I was able to get them to stick, but it was slightly annoying at first.

Received Neiko 53849A Welding and Torch Goggles
I am happy with the fit and ease of use of these goggles. They are comfortable and the flip-up style works great. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a comfortable convenient google for working with a shade and with a clear safety lense. I do wish there was a slightly darker shded lensfor use with my mig welder but this is easily remedied since the goggles are large enough to also wear a pair of sunglasses which makes them perfect. The price was competitive. Neiko 53849A Flip-Up Style, ANSI Approved Comfort-Fit Welding and Torch Safety Goggles from Amazon.

Steampunking out goggles
No lie, I bought these just to make steampunk goggles. They take spray paint well and the lenses can be removed before painting. They were a little uncomfortable before I added faux fur trim on the inside for cushion. The goggles are large enough to cover my glasses, which is important. The dark lenses are too dark to successfully see through, which is great for welding, but not for walking around. I'm planning to replace the lenses in the near future for this reason. All in all, a much more economical choice than buying already made goggles and I got exactly what I wanted.

Great for the price, very good even at a higher price
I just received these last week and used them for probably 4-6 hours total. My first impression was that I wasn't sure they were dark enough as they seemed like a pair of dark sun glasses. I can see fine with them, but once I started welding (oxy-acetylene), there was no problem with them not being dark enough. Guess I was just used to arc welding where they need to be much darker. The plastic is firm, but not hard. Not sure how to explain it but I found them pretty comfortable. The only thing I didn't like was the imprinted writing on the edge of the lenses, you end up losing some peripheral vision. But for $7-8, you can't go wrong.

Great gas welding goggles
They lost one star even though they are what was advertised it would have been nice if they would have specified the darkness. I was looking for eclipse goggles and these will not work for that as they are not dark enough. They are not appropriate for arc welding or sun viewing. Do not buy these for any eclipse or venus transit viewing. They are only for gas welding. Otherwise they are a decent pair of goggles they seem like they would be good for that.
