Foster Grant Gideon Reading Glasses

I joke that these are my James Bond glasses, as I remove them from the case and extend the telescoping arms. I love these!Very compact, hard case fits in my tiny wristlet purses. People are always amazed at how they fold up into such a tiny case. They will fit in your pocket, even tight jeans. So convenient for the doctor’s office, reading menus, etc.I’m never without these glasses.Ingenious design! Excellent glass lenses.They also hold up great. I lost the pair I’d been using for 5-7 years, but they were as perfect at the end as they were at the beginning.I really appreciate the quality of Foster Grant. I definitely wouldn’t buy a knockoff. You get what you pay for and these will last forever.Highly recommend!

I first saw these glasses when a friend pulled them out of her purse at a restaurant. I was intrigued. I also carry a pair of readers everywhere I go. My pair was the normal size readers that I kept in a case in my purse. I immediately went to Amazon and purchased a pair of the FG Rectangular Reading Glasses. They give me enough magnification to see menus and other small print (e.g. magazines, instructions, etc) and fold up so small that they take up very little space in my purse. I could even comfortably carry this in my pocket. They are a great alternative to carrying around that regular sized pair of readers with the clunky case. I've uploaded photos of the case next to a ruler and on top of a regular sized business card to give an idea of size and shape.

These foldable readers are well made and easy to take almost anywhere, the lenses are fairly scratch resistant and optically excellent.they're a bit fussy to expand or collapse, but not actually hard to use, especially considering how small they are when stored, the case is a great design as well.the only real issue is that the plastic nubs on the ends of the temples eventually come off leaving a sharp end on the temple, I fixed this on my original pair (which is about 6 years old now) by welding a button of stainless steel on to the end of the temple, but I would think that a blob of epoxy, UV resin, tool dip, or the like would work almost as well.

Love these reading glasses. High quality glasses in a compact case you take with you anywhere.

I bought these for my mother, as she kept breaking the glasses she carried in her purse. Now she doesn't have to worry. They are slightly smaller then a typical pair of glasses, however they are convenient and still a great product.

I have about 4 sets of these. Like Fred G. Sanford (of Sandford and Sons), I have found myself keeping a pair in my briefcase, pocket, truck, and office. Occasionally I will forget them on the golf course, but I love the way they fit in my pocket and expand for when I need them. I purchased these over the CLIC which is also very good, but I'm not a fan of having things hang around my neck. Plus there is nothing more distinguished than the pause that comes from taking a moment to retrieve these, open the case, and put them on. It shows that I have graduated to elegant patience and sophistication. Nothing says you become a complete man like the slow tempered removal of your reading glasses. As well this indicates that you are now at the point where the larger picture is more important that the minutia. I highly recommend these. I do wish they came in black.
