DO NOT PURCHASE THIS!
Arrived a week or so ago and didn’t open it until yesterday when the hummingbird feeder I was waiting on finally arrived. There is a CRACK down the entire side so I had to Super-Glue the crack so it would hold water. The top hook is the SAME SIZE AS THE BOTTOM-SMALL, not like other I’ve ordered from other suppliers - THE TOP HOOK IS TOO SMALL AND DOESN’T FIT THE SHEPHERD’S HOOK FROM AMAZON OR ANY OF THE THERE OTHER HOOKS IN MY GARDEN! WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!

Does not really work, maybe I have super ants?
I was happy at first. I thought that I finally had solved the problem of ants over running my hummingbird feeder. But on the third morning I was shocked to see that the ants had gotten past the moat, still half full of water, and onto the feeder. Now what? :(

Hook fell out and dropped feeder, but excellent customer service
I am revising my review below because of the excellent customer service I received. The seller promptly responded to me and quickly sent a replacement ant moat. I noticed on this one that the hooks were not screwed in tightly. I think this is the most important thing: YOUR MUST TIGHTEN THE HOOKS AND SCREW THEM IN TIGHTLY SO THEY DON'T PULL OUT. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I think I will be need to periodically check the hooks to make sure they remain tight.I ordered 2 of these ant moats and received them about a week ago. This afternoon, I looked out the window and saw one of my hummingbird feeders on the ground in the bushes. I went out and found that the bottom hook on the ant moat had come off and dropped the feeder. If this had been one of my glass feeders, it could have broken. I looked for the hook, but couldn't find it in the dense bushes. I've requested a replacement, so we'll see how it goes. For now, I'd be very careful about using this ant moat.

Fading fast - will it last?
I am on the fence about this ant guard purchased last spring since the plastic has already faded to a dingy deep pink - I am wondering if this is just a cosmetic issue or is it indicative of plastic deteriorating? It works fine in keeping the ants away for my light-weight plastic feeder. I have had no problem attracting hummingbirds or orioles in my fairly bird-friendly environment. This was the first time I actually used a component in the traditional red color, and I am not really that excited about this attribute. It is nice to see the liquid level, but not essential as I use canola oil which persists much better than water in the local hot and windy climate. I picked this budget-friendly option as an alternative to the much more expensive copper guard I purchased last year (for a heavier glass feeder), but now availability of copper guards seems to have increased while the price has dropped. If the Woodlink product fails, I will probably buy a copper guard next time.

It Works!
This works just as stated. I was fighting ants getting into my feeder terribly - and this stopped them completely. And the bright red color helped attract more hummers. I discovered one issue tho - where I live we can get a lot of wind and the continual movement caused the bottom hook to unscrew from the ant guard and my feeder fell. I handled this with a little glue and we were back in business! Great Product!

ADHESIVE ON THREE LABELS
The three labels that are stuck to the product had to be SOAKED IN ACETONE........THEN RUBBED OFF WITH FINGERNAILS, BUTTER KNIVES, WASHCLOTHS for an hour!!!! Even after that...there is still adhesive smudge around the outside. I would look at other brands next time. That was a pain............not necessary!!! Whoever is slapping those labels on needs to put them on outside packaging!!! Try it yourself

important feature of product, clear plastic so you can see water level
important feature of this product is it is clear plastic so you can see water level. Most of other Ant Guards are opaque which means you cannot see what the water level is unless you are taller than the Ant Guard. My hummingbird feeders are mounted above my head so I cannot see the water level if the Ant Guard is opague.

Not well made... surprise!
Not good. Started out well, but the screw hook slides out due to the weight of the feeder. Broke one of my favorite feeders.Recommend another brand or if you have one already, I re-secured with aquarium glue (water proof glue). Don’t risk losing a good feeder.

Pretty but be careful
I was disappointed and worried about my feeder after the holidays in the bottom of the ant water cup unscrewed in the wind and dropped my feeder. I never checked when I received it how tight it was - and possibly I will have to put some drops of crazy glue so that it won’t turn. It is very attractive and reasonable in price so I will be checking it in the future because the feeder is expensive.
