Deflecto Early Warning Triangle Kit

We travel in an RV and tow our car on a tow dolly. To hook up the car, we have to pull the RV out to a flat section of the driveway or road, drive the car onto the dolly, and wrap tow straps around the tires. This takes about 10 minutes. I recently insisted we purchase these triangles so nobody runs over my husband when he's doing this.We tested these out for the first time over the holidays, not for hooking up the car but while repairing a flat tire. We ended up having to repair and re-inflate the flat tire repeatedly over a 2 1/2 hour span so we used these triangles A LOT. The flat tire was on the driver's side rear and we were in the middle of nowhere on a curving narrow road with narrow shoulders and fast drivers. These safety triangles may very well have been a lifesaver!They were relatively easy to set up, highly reflective, and heavy enough to stand on their own. We were very thankful for the weight of the bases as the wind really picked up while we were dealing with the flat tire nightmare. The wind was blowing at about 20 mph in the last hour and a half but the triangles didn't budge. The tops latch together well enough, too, that we could just pick the triangles up and carry them without having to fold them down each time. (Since we were only able to drive about a mile at a time before the tire lost air again, we weren't breaking down the triangles between stops.)Highly recommended for your vehicle emergency kit!

I bought these while assembling a general emergency kit for my car. I wanted something to warn oncoming traffic if my car were ever disabled, like if I were changing a tire. Other similar products had some bad reviews and weren't much cheaper so I went with this product, because of good reviews and being DOT certified.BOY. I was shocked when these triangles showed up. First of all, I nearly broke my toes getting them out of their box. They are heavy. They really are professional grade. They are solid and heavy and big. They are not going to blow over or snap in two (unless someone actually drives over them?) These are what truckers keep in their trucks. I noticed that the city bus I ride keeps the exact same model under the driver's seat! They look kind of silly in my little hatchback. Oh well, safety over pride. I will probably never have to buy this kind of thing again. I even considered breaking up the set into multiple vehicles - a small car may only need one or at most two triangles and not three, therefore a two sets will serve three cars.

I had some flimsy cheapies before this set. A bird's wing could blow them off the road. That will not happen with this sturdy set. Everything about them is high quality and made not to blow away as cars pass.The set up is scary, always afraid I'm going to snap a plastic piece. But, if you take it easy, there is a sweet spot and they come apart for setup with ease.Comes in a red plastic case, nothing fancy, but keeps the set from separating from one another.Well packaged in delivery, no problems there. I would recommend others purchase if you want a sturdy set.

I just received these today and the weight completely took me by surprise! These are a quality product and I feel better just having them. I purchased these for our camper after a trip with friends left us on the side of the interstate with their blowout and no emergency warning kits at all. Vehicles had very little notice as to what was going on and a semi passed us at full speed only 8 feet away. What else could he do? But now, we can give a heads up with these. They are huge and very reflective. They weigh enough each that I wouldn't worry about them falling over at all. Already purchased another set for my car as I travel for a living and many times at night. Still thinking about buying another set or 2 because I am so impressed with these. They come in a nice storage box (even though one of my tabs is broken). I am so happy with this purchase!

I feel bad giving this only 3 stars, because the idea of them is very nice, but here's why I returned it: the storage case that the triangles are stored in has these tiny, plastic clips on it that I had a hard time getting open, then couldn't actually close them shut. I think this is a design flaw, but it's the type of design flaw that renders this set useless for me. I had wanted to keep this kit in the back of my truck in case of breakdown (I take a lot of road trips.) I was concerned that these would come out of the case if I couldn't latch it closed, & would damage the triangles or they would be lost.The triangles themselves seem to be VERY sturdy on the base, they definitely won't fall over and will be very visible even in the dark. However, I could see them being easy to damage while setting them up if you pull on the arms a little too strongly or in the wrong direction. It's a nice idea to be able to fold them flat and store in a case, but I think the manufacturer might want to consider a couple of tweaks to materials used and design. Sorry!

These are much heavier that I anticipated, but that's a good thing as they will not blow over when set up. They pack neatly into the included case and are easy to set up. I am docking one star because the case is cheaply made and the clips to keep it closed were already broken off straight out of the box. It's still alright as I found a strap lying around that I used to keep the case closed. Although I hope not to have to use these, they make a great addition to your car emergency gear and I would recommend as the items themselves are very well made.

These safety triangles seem to be well made and are heavy so they should stay put if its windy. I was a little disappointed that they would not fit in my Subaru Forester's storage area, the storage box is too large. I keep mine on the floor by the back seats. This may present a problem if I have passengers in the back. Be sure to measure your storage area before ordering. I have not used them yet but if I have a break down I think they will definitely come in handy. They also have a diagram showing how you should position the triangles on the road for the best protection.

Very nice! Good quality, well made. Sturdy base, great trunk box and large enough!!The three reflectors come in a solid plastic stow box for the trunk. Each reflector unfolds into a good size triangle about 18 inches on each side. The heavy base swivels 90' to form a four point contact with the ground for stability. With three large reflectors like these I decided to put one in the car and two in the truck. The reason I purchased these comes from a head-on collision that took place mere seconds in front of me this summer. Vehicles still tried to navigate through the carnage and it was a dangerous situation on a highway that using reflectors would have been advantageous.Hope I never need them, BUT if I do...........

You can tell this product is build with high quality materials as soon as you take it out of the box. Thankfully I have never had to use this product out on the road yet, however, with their sturdy construction and their weighted bases, I know they will keep me safe without falling over and/or breaking.

These triangles look and perform fine except for the fact that they are filled with a black sandy substance for weight then capped off with a flimsy plastic cap that is easily undone. I will need to seal these openings with a layer of glue. Would be also nice to know what this black substance is, in case special handling is required should this material spill out. Is a material data safety sheet available?
