Fast graphics card
I do a lot of editing and motion graphics for a living and this is one insanely fast card. And it works in my MacPro, perfect!

Best CUDA for the Mac- 4K at 60fps- Great upgrade for video and graphics enthusiasts still on previous model Mac Pro
Outputs 4 displays, and can do 4K at 60 fps via DisplayPort. The CUDA engine is ideal for those using Adobe Premiere as well. It also significantly speeds up 3D in After Effects. One of the better high end cards for the previous Mac Pro Tower, and really one of the only options for graphics work at this point for the now legacy based machine. This is not an ideal fit for gaming, and cheaper options are available if you don't need CUDA acceleration. Glad to see this was made for a now discontinued Mac Pro. I upgraded from the Quadro 4000 card, and it's well worth it.

Expensive but effective
Since new Apple video editing applications no longer support my original ATI 5200 video cards, I had a choice. Upgrade to a new Mac Pro or iMac, or replace my video card with something that is supported. This card is supported by Apple (who will sell it to you for full list price at the Apple store). The card installed easily, and is operating flawlessly with native OSX support. I am driving 3 displays which no problems. This one card replaced two ATI 5200 cards and freed up a PCIe slot for PCIe SSD (with two added external eSATA ports). These two steps allow me to continue with my antique 2008 Mac Pro, buying time for the new Mac Pro to shake down. The only downside is the cost. These two steps cost 2/3 the cost of a fully configured new iMac, but for me this was a better choice while I wait for the new Mac Pro to mature. An old systems expert explained, "Never go with release 1 of anything!". Good advice.

Amazing Cards! No need for external power supplies!!!!
I have two (2) of the k5000s in my Mac Pro (Mid 2012) and they are amazing. They are powered by the internal power supply and worked directly out of the box. The performance is amazing and crushes the Radeon HD 7870 (6 mini display ports) graphics card i was using (it required an external power supply). The K5000 is a great card and i highly recommend it. I use it to power six (6) 27 inch displays on my desk.

Like Most Mac products don't buy into the hype.
I am unsure this card is worth the cost unless you are earning a profit from graphics generation, otherwise find another graphics card. Pros: - PNY Quadro support is REALLY FRIENDLY! - Best card you can get for a Mac Pro 5,1. - Renders video from After Effects like a champ. - Renders RAW files in Lightroom, DXO Pro like a king. - For professional rendering and graphics intensive features this thing is top of the line for the OSX environment. Cons: - For entertainment this is not the best card for the OSX environment. - Most powerful card you can get for a Mac Pro 5,1. However Unix and Windows OS PCs have a slew of blazingly fast cards and SLI architectures that leaves this card in the dust.* - Can hardly detect monitors and when it does it's sketchy at best. - DisplayPort rather than Mini DisplayPort. This is a Mac product after all... - NO DisplayPort sound through HDMI. Just about every cheap ATI cards for Mac pulls this off. Quirks: - In Bootcamp this card KILLs it and works better than it does in OSX. - Sound through DisplayPort to HDMI works in Bootcamp. GO FIGURE! *RANT: Mac fanatics don't understand why quality games (not App store crap) are not developed for their favored OS this is why. Developers are not going to shoot themselves in the foot using Mac architecture- time is money. Sometimes I wish I would have built a 12 core PC so I could chain graphics cards but I choose Mac because of other reasons. Everything is give and take with an OS.

Dual retina monitor support!
I bought this card because I wanted to drive two 4k monitors in full retina mode on a tower Mac Pro. It works, with no configuration needed, plugged in to two 4k Dell P2415Q monitors. Both run in retina mode by default. Video performance is transparent for non-gaming use. I've used it with Aperture, VMware 7 (running Windows 7 at full 3840x2160 resolution), and simpler apps such as Safari and BBedit. The computer seems as fast as it did before, when it was pushing two 1920x1080 monitors with an ATI 5870 card. Currently I'm using a Mac Pro 5,1 running OS X 10.9.5.

No faster than the stock ATi Radeon HD 5770
It is very hard to get a quantifiable performance comparison on graphics cards on a Mac, and a lot of graphics applications use a combination of CPU and GPU. That said, my MacPro (mid 2012; 12 core) came with a ATi Radeon HD 5770 1024mb card. I started using VRED and it seemed unstable, so I purchased this card as the recommended upgrade, and it was maybe a slight bit better... the the speed tests that I performed for rendering a CGI image the render times are exactly the same. When creating 1:1 previews in Lightroom CC for thousands of images, the Nvidia card is actually a little bit slower (10.6 seconds per image instead vs 9.6 seconds, which doesn't sound like much but on a job with 8,895 images, that is almost 2.5 Hours. Since I have both cards, I did the same tests with both cards installed; it might be that Mac's can't distribute the GPU load over multiple cards, but there was no benefit, and CGI rendering was a little slower. I made sure that drivers were updated. My recommendation is: if you have the OEM ATi Radeon HD 5770 1024mb card, don't bother.

Facile da installare e super qualità . Questa scheda non costa poco ma non esiste qualità a basso costo! Quindi per chi lavora professionalmente ed ha un Mac Pro tower 5.1 la consiglio senza se e senza ma

Expensive, but will allow me to keep using my Mac Pro (2008) for years. In fact, it's good enough to run a full 4K display in HiPDI / Retina mode. Also allows me to run hardware accelerated 3D software that uses CUDA. I'm getting very good results with physically based rendering software now.
