Love the build quality, one solid block of aluminium. A point of critic could be the supplied power cable and method thereof, USB is not well know for clean power, that was my only concern before buying. An external (third party) power supply would have solved that. I am impressed to say, it does not mater at all. No jitter, noise or any problems associated with 'dirty power', this DAC is crisp, clean and sounds effortless, just as it should. No matter what USB source I used.Highly recommend!EDIT: Just stopped working out of the blue. Taking the stars off!

I'm sure if you're looking at this DAC you've already read the reviews of its performance on head-fi and elsewhere. It does sound VERY good. That said the front panel is not as useful as it might seem- the controls are pretty obscure and the display is mainly for appearance purposes as you're unlike to actually use the controls or reference the display when you're using it. Turning it off is a bit tricky- you have to keep your finger on the control button for a few seconds to make it work.The TOS link works perfectly, as does the USB input. Output levels aren't matched across inputs that I can tell but all the inputs work properly and changes don't result in any pops or transients. There's a separate power supply (it's not powered by the USB input) so the noise level is very low and it's not a drag on your USB hub or computer.It's not fancy, it's probably not worth the delta increase over the D30, much less the D10, but it does have a display and have pretty amazing specs.

First of all I believe components synergy. Review based on my use case only. My use case is CD Transport > Bluesound node 2i digital in >Bluesound node 2i analog out > kef ls50 wireless analog in.With same set up I stream music via tidal hifi for music discovery and I buy CD once shortlisted. Bluesound digital in Cd playback sound quality outperform its own streaming Format includes MQA Having said that i tried to replace node2i dac with D50 for CD play back. this D50 not at all giving Hifi sound pleasure. It sounds halo and sounds like highly compressed mp3 audio like recorded at higher louder volumes. Forget about details mids, texture of mids and mids are not at all reachable to ears. Only emphasized highs without air and texture to it. I tried to replace Bluesound node 2i for a change. That was biggest mistake. Never ever try to upgrade if your happy with Current rig that is thumb rule in our life .D50 dac no where near to Bluesound 2i dac. 3d sound stage which we get from Bluesound node 2i can not be compare with D50. ( also used ifi 5v power adapter)One more thing do not fool by measures. Measures can not quantify the sound stage, texture of lows , mids and highs, can not quantify image , sonic pleasure and so on. I mentioned because I see there are people go by some online stupid measurements.

I've had the Topping D50 for a few months and I'm very happy with it. The precision is very good. Overall, the DAC's output seems pretty neutral (perhaps a bit warm). Bass isn't emphasized, but it is definitely present. Has partnered well with both the Topping A30 AMP and the Schiit Vali 2 AMP.

Replaced an Eiderol outboard USB interface that I had thought was pretty good. At least that it was an improvement over my PC motherboard audio output. This DAC provides a whole other class of improvement. Noise floor is way down into inaudibility. Detail is noticeably improved with absolutely no harshness. The music sounds more dynamic. One of the few changes I've made to my system that put a really big smile on my face. Really noticeable improvement on my class A amplified headphone system, using either my dynamics or my planar magnetics.

I used the SMSL m8 before this. This is better. Great Value . I've used it everyday Desktop with Kef ls50 and Rogue amp for the last 9 mo. and have had no Problems. I think you would have to spend another $800 to a $1000 to have better sound. Oh ,, I tried their driver but ended up letting Windows 10 install it and works great.

Worked fine for the first several months. Then occasionally started distorting and glitching up. Now it wont accept any usb input. Tried different cables, different computers (PC and MAC) reinstalled PC drivers and nothing. Unit is dead.

I bought this DAC for input switching use since it offers USB, Coax and Optical inputs. I’m using the optical input for a Chromecast audio device (streaming Spotify, Idagio FLAC at CD quality, DLNA from Plex, mainly ripped CDs as FLAC) and the USB from a Macbook using VLC to play FLAC from a micro-SD card at 44.1/16 and higher sampling and bit rates. I don’t have any DSD files, it’s all PCM.I can’t detect any significant benefits between the redbook stuff and ‘HD Audio’ at the higher rates. I also wasn’t able to tell much difference between the seven selectable filters.The DAC sounds better to me than either the AKM DAC in the CCA and the Apple DAC in the Macbook. The stereo soundstage seems particularly well fixed in space, it is very easy to pick out individual instruments and follow lines and phrases in chamber music for example. Handling of exposed vocals also seems very good, rather forward projecting and exciting. Higher frequencies seem to have a not unattractive glassy quality.It’s all very subjective of course, but that’s how it seems to me - for what it’s worth :)All in all a very engaging listen.

Habe schon einige DACs ausprobiert (in Kombination mit einem Aune X7s) und ich bin von diesem hier absolut begeistert! Super Leistung für diese Preisklasse! Klare Kaufempfehlung! :D

Ein wirklich gutes Gerät, klein, robust und klanglich nicht zu stoppen!

Fa il suo, se codificasse anche i master di Tidal (mqa) sarebbe il top!
