Impressed
Impressed, cut very well, did start to dull on the second bolt, but I was threading grade 8 .

worked on my wheel studs
surprised that it actually helped fix the threads on some beat up wheel studs

Got me.
Got me. It doesn't have a starter side, making it easier to get the threads started.Having a rough time getting some threads started, so this may go the way of the barrel soon.

Worked where others failed
Was cutting new threads on an axle to upgrade the wheels on my generator. Got new threads on three axles done but the fourth just would not cooperate. Went through 3 dies, including two Irwin’s, but no cigar. Out of desperation, I ordered this Century high speed carbon steel die and boy was I impressed. It bit into the axle on the first try and I was able to cut new threads in no time at all. Made a believer out of me.

Century 1/4-28 die
I bought this die to cut threads in a 1/4” steel rod that I am fabricating for carburetor linkage. Worked great!! Don’t have to borrow my buddy’s any more !

Does the job.
Pretty decent die for the price, I was surprised. I would buy another one if I needed.

Its worthless
I guess you get what you pay for in taps and dies. At $8, it was hardly worth that. It is a 5-40 machine screw die and cut the threads .012 small. Absolutely unusable. Returned it for a refund. It was made in Japan though and thought it may be better. Unfortunately, no.

DO NOT BUY THIS!
This die is terrible. Absolute junk.I turned 1/2”-13 thread on my lathe.OD was turned to 0.495”, and the thread form was 0.005” from upper end of PD.The die was very difficult to start (that should have been my warning to stop what I was doing.) I gave the die the benefit of the doubt and turned until it was fully engaged on the part, breaking chips every 1/4 turn. When I reversed the die off the part, I could see the threads themselves weren’t touched, and the major diameter had been chewed down to 0.475”!!!!! PART RUINED!I tested the die on some 1/2”-13 threaded rod, and the same thing happened.Unfortunately I can’t get a refund from Amazon for the scrapped material and the machining time I had into it.Don’t buy this junk.

7/16- 20 NF Die Nut
The die nut came in good packaging. It did not have any anti-corrosion grease on it. I tried it on some threaded bolts that were damaged and it did a good job in cleaning the thread. I did not try it to see if it would cut a new thread. The price was not great but acceptable.
