DDENDOCAM WiFi Endoscope Inspection Camera, 5.5mm Wireless Borescope 1080P HD IP67 Waterproof Snake Camera with Light, 2600mAh Battery for iPhone, Android Phone (3.5M)

The door internal light switch on my car broke and when I removed the switch the cable fell into the door pillar. When I investigated how to retrieve the cable it was really difficult so I thought of using an endoscope to see if I could locate the wire. I needed a scope with a very small diameter that connected to an iPhone and found the DDENDOCAM 5.5mm wireless Endoscope. I charged it up and switched on, then connected it via WiFi to my iPhone and after a few seconds a very clear picture appeared. The Endoscope came with attachments which were a magnet, 45deg. mirror and a hook. I attached the hook, inserted the Endoscope into the car door pillar, located the cable and pulled it out. Job done. Fantastic piece of kit.

The endoscope was easy to get setup on the mobile, but the only down side is if you want to run your mobile on the internet, you have to switch to the wifi of the transmitter to use the camera . That said, the picture quality is good when focused, but you have to get into the range of the object you wish to examine to see it clearly as the app and the camera do not offer autofocus which would have been much better. The range of the transmitter to phone is ample for the job you need the camera for and it runs about 55 minutes on a charge and was still running :)A gripe would be that to orientate the camera to be the right way around for viewing the right way up took some getting used to, but you can be 5 meters away from the transmitter as the rigid cable is enough to steer about but you cannot steer the head as it's a manual fixed variant. The app is easy to you and you can record video or take snaps as you go and the input light is enough to see where you are going.Be aware that you cannot go twisting the camera in relation to the cable as it breaks away from the glue and the next thing you get is no picture. I was able to repair mine and then super glued the cable to the camera head to stop that happening again.For the price, it's good.... has enough functionality to do the job it was brought for and if you buy an external usb battery you can charge it as you work to extend the runtime :)

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this endoscope to investigate scrabblings in my bedroom ceiling. I thought I had mice but ... well this little camera discovered the truth!This camera comes with several attachments (a mirror, hook and magnet) to allow you to locate and pick up lost objects, grab wires, or pull-through strings and other tasks. Connecting it to my Samsung tablet was dead simple - download an App and connect directly to the camera with WiFi. The endoscope contains a battery which recharges via a charger or USB port. It lasts a long and I've only needed to charge it a acouple of times. The image quality is very good and the video was very clear. In my case it told me that I didn't have a mouse problem but a hornet's nest making me VERY glad I'd looked before investigaed in person.Overall a good product. Well made, easy to use and giving really useful images.

Useful tool but difficult to drive into the right place. Even if the cable is stiff is not enough to avoid the camera to tilt and rotate during the inspection, making it really difficult.The resolution is kind of ok compared to the others of the same value.It meant to work with the smartphone as well, however after several tries with 3 different phones it didn't work, and that made the use much less flexible.

Used for finding wires under the dashboard of my motor home, used to route cables. Used to check turbo wastegate in inacessable behind engine location. I expect to find many more uses. ( Only had a couple of weeks. ) Excellent easy to use tool with easy phone app and connectivity to laptop. Wish I had one in the past. Very good VFM.....

Only got this to connect once. It hardly ever appears on the WiFi connection page and when it does it rarely connects to the phone. The picture when it did connect was not bad, but there is no viewing distance in the dark as the light isn’t very good. I tried using this to inspect under floor boards but couldn’t see more than about 1-2 FT in front.Not a great purchase.

Managed to connect it to my old iPad & my iPhone 6s very quickly after charging it. Not very good for close up things but can see all round the room but that is not what I wanted it for. I wanted for the 3cm that it advertised but it was just a blur. Shame you can’t adjust the focus on it. Will have to get another one. Shame.

I'd failed to appreciate the full cunningness of this device. You could just plug the camera directly into a PC and use the webcam facility to view what’s happening. But the cunningness starts with the wi-fi dongle that works for both iOS and Android and that also has the QR code on the dongle itself takes you to a web page that asks to which app store you want to use in order to download the specific app for the camera. This allows you to alter the resolution of the camera and record images and video. I sort of got that beforehand. But what I’d failed to appreciate is that the dongle is also a battery that powers the camera once unplugged form a USB port, giving you full mobility whilst using the phone / tablet app.Meanwhile, the image quality is what you’d expect – it is, after all, a tiny web cam on a stick with a built-in light, not a digital SLR. But for getting a view into tiny spaces – perfect.
