Great product, saves so much money!
This is wonderful stuff. I make my own sunscreen simply by mixing this into my favorite lotion, and it works so well -- lasts for hours. If you buy an expensive "mineral" sunscreen, check the ingredients. Zinc oxide is the one that does the job, and you are "paying through the nose", as my dad used to say, for something you can buy for a fraction of the price. Save your skin with this stuff, and save your money for things you can't do yourself. Just a thought . . . oh, and the jar is going to last you a LONG time. Like years. Also, I use it in a homemade lotion / cream moisturizer, that has helped my skin a lot. When I was growing up, my old dad (referenced above), used to recommend zinc oxide cream to me for just about every skin ailment I ever had. He was right. The stuff works so well, and is so simple. As a teenager and young adult, I thought I had to spend money on all the stuff they advertised on television . . . zinc oxide just wasn't cool, you know? What is cool is what works for your skin. Why did I have to grow older myself to find it out?

Wonderful product for DYI sunscreen, lotion, blemish cream...
I ordered this product after having a difficult time finding everyday lotions with SFP from zinc oxide that weren't outrageously priced. I decided to try making my own.The tub of powder is huge and will last a long time. The powder is fine, and blends in well with lotions. I've made several concoctions with shea butter, aloe, coconut oil, jojoba oil, and various essential oils. It's a really great way to get an all-natural sunscreen that's actually good for the skin. I've also mixed a tiny amount with a little water to make a lotion for blemishes -- this stuff is really good for the skin! The item came packaged well and had no damage (I've received similar products with broken lids due to poor packaging), so that made me happy. And the customer service is great. I've received a couple emails (not too many though) checking in to see how I liked the product, which is a nice touch.I will definitely buy this again -- I'll likely never buy another lotion with SPF b/c I can easily make far better and healthier products now!

Works but leaves a very white cast
This product works. I mixed it with my favorite lotion and put a lot of zinc oxide n the mix because I want a high spf - I have very fair skin. The downside is that this leaves a very white cast on your skin and can get everywhere especially on your clothes. I am trying to find ways to mask the white cast without losing effectiveness.

A GREAT VALUE!
I have a major sensitivity to ultraviolet light and wear sunbloc 365 days a year. Plus I have skin that's very sensitive to botanicals and perfumes. Over the years I've found that the powdered sunbloc made by Colorscience has been the best for me. I apply it over my moisturizer (which has an SPF of 30) and I'm good to go for the day. But I decided to try adding a little more zinc oxide powder to the Colorscience to further increase its SPF. The Natural Escentials zinc oxide powder is excellent, and the value cannot be beat. The jar is huge and will last a lifetime, seriously. It also comes with recipes for making your own sunbloc, by adding it to lotions. Zinc is good for the skin, helping with healing, so on every front, this powder is a winner. Even if you don't use Colorscience sunbloc, you could add some of this zinc oxide powder to your regular face powder (mix well, using a mortar and pestle) and create added sunprotection to use over whatever liquid sunbloc you are using.

Great product to add into natural lotion! Love that it’s mineral based!
I used this product to put into my cerave face lotion. I know there are a lot of chemical sunscreens out there, so I wanted to use something that’s mineral based and reef safe for everyday use. I value protecting my skin and I’m so glad I found this zinc oxide powder! I was worried about it being gritty and tearing my skin, but it didn’t at all! It blended right into my lotion and I barely had to use any much at all, I think 2 TBSP or 2 oz mixed into my 12oz lotion. It will hold up for a long time, so it’s a great value! This company also sent me recipes for how to incorporate this product to make homemade sunscreen and body lotions which was super helpful. Would highly recommend!

Various uses for Zinc oxide
It's been over a year of using this product and I still have plenty. At first, it took me awhile to get the consistency right with various types of lotions. But for the most part, I like that I can use my fave moisturizer with zinc in it to protect from the sun. I use flat wooden stick (like popsicle stick but wider) to scoop up the right amount of powder and mix it in mini mason jar. You will get white face (I have olive skin) if you add too much, but I didn't care since I wanted full protection from the sun. I'm going to try jamsu makeup technique with this powder and also discovered it's great to help heal blisters - I have gymnast child who gets grip rips in her palms so I have bandaged it with zinc powder and little bit of frankincense & myrrh oil and heals within 24hours. Great stuff!

An oily/combo skin's best friend!
Soaks up oil like nobody's business without looking too matte! I applied the powder directly to my face as a setting powder. It's been 7 hrs (as I post this) and I do not look like an oil slick. Just a perfect natural looking matte. Now this will give you a white cast that will gradually fade away. If you have a richer skin tone, beware of that. I used bronzer and blush to take away the ghostly look. I love that you can mix zinc oxide powder in products to give it sunscreen. 90% of sunscreen lotions make me incredibly oily, so it's nice to be able to make my own.
