Lutheran Service Book

I had been wanting an LSB with the soft cover and I’m thrilled that it got here quickly and I can use it at church for taking some notes.

Thank you Amazon for offering this hymnal. It's the one we use in our church. Now I can sing and study the Word in music at home.

Now that we are attending church live stream about half the time, its nice to have one's own hymnal. The hymnal is in a nice soft cover like a Bible might be. It made a very nice gift for someone who is difficult to buy for. And less expensive than the publishing house.

We recently started attending a Lutheran church. Since we are unfamiliar with most on the songs AND Covid has made pew versions disappear we purchased our own copy. Yes we are a music loving family who likes to see the notes... it’s easier to sing that way.

Without stealing the thunder from other reviews, for a confessional Lutheran pastor this is the best hymnal we have in the English language. It's been a true blessing for our congregation and for use in pastoral care.This particular edition - slightly smaller with flexible covers - is highly useful for family devotions (which is how it is primarily used). It's smaller and lighter than the hardcover pew version, and the only difference in content is that it doesn't have the collection of prayers from the inside front cover or the collection of creeds/Lord's Prayer from the inside back cover that you do find in the pew edition. It's been very durable so far, and I'm very happy with this version of our hymnal.

I'm an SMP Vicar and needed this. Nice to have and nicely done. It's LCMS so its got to be good... and correct!

The book itself was perfect, but the box it comes in was scotch taped shut, which looked a little tacky, and made it impossible to inspect the book easily...the tape lifts the colored layer of paper off the box no matter how gently you try to remove it. So it does not work well if it is being given as a gift unless you wrap it in a different box.
