Works best on new bites
I bought these 4 years ago to use on sand flea bites (chiggers? Not sure the proper term) after a trip to cancun. Several days had passed before I got these and I will say the scrubbing felt GOOD; and the bites stopped itching for several hours but eventually started up again. Not really a miracle, but still helpful. I hadn’t really thought about my stash of these since then.Flash forward to this month, I’ve been eaten alive by some unknown creature for the last several weeks. It leaves large welts that itch terribly for WEEKS. Last night, I randomly reached to touch my upper back and felt tons of large bumps. They didn’t itch or hurt so at first I thought I’d developed some type of terrible back acne overnight. There were at least 20 huge bumps clustered together, all the color of my skin. As I touched them, one of them started to itch and I realized with horror they were bites and I would soon be miserable. I ran to the bathroom and scrubbed with this stuff per directions, praying for a miracle. Because they didn’t actually itch yet, it kind of hurt to scrub for so long but I kept at it.I’d completely forgotten about this ordeal until this evening when I touched my back again and felt the bumps. The scrub worked!! They still itch for a few seconds while I’m thinking about them but a quick rub of my hand and it disappears. The bumps are red now but smaller and not itchy! I’ve been saved! This is probably the only time in my life I’ve ever noticed a bite before it started itching, but if you’re somewhere with tons of mosquitos and know you’ll be bug food, keep these on hand!

This Stuff is Incredible -- Zaps Texas Fire Ant Bites
I purchased these to keep around our house and shop. We were looking for access to quick relief when the fire ants have found their way into our sandals and in between our toes AGAIN. If you've never endured these bites from the fire ants of Texas, where it's hot as hell in the summer, and the fire ants are burning up your feet and toes, consider yourself lucky! No matter how careful you are to avoid those boogers, they find their way to your shoes and lower legs - then call all their friends to head over asap.Within 3 days of receiving this stuff, I got the opportunity to use it (thanks to you know what). I did not use a whole package...,.probably only 1/3 of it, because I 'only' had one bite. This is a scrub, so while it's exfoliating and helping rub these ingredients in, it also provides relief because these bites itch like hell and it feels good to rub something rough across the bite. I did this for a couple of minutes and then left the scrub on for a while. Let me tell you -- THIS STUFF WORKS! The itching subsided very quickly. I had little or maybe even no redness on the bite area. And I didn't have that white pustule that comes up after you have a fire ant bite that you don't treat. It happened again yesterday on the other foot. Squeezed out more from the same packet and still did not use it all. Same thing again -- it's like I was never bitten. Later in the day, I got bit AGAIN but wasn't near the scrub and didn't apply anything. It itches like crazy and I have the small whitehead on the bite on my foot.I like the packets are easy for traveling or storing in various places. Also think it's a pretty good value, because you don't have to use nearly an entire package on a bite unless you have been really been attacked something fierce. I love this stuff. You will not regret having it in your first aid kit!

Apply Mitigator ASAP and rub it in per directions so it can do its job.
This provides the best relief for insect bites and stings of anything that I've tried, and I've tried a lot of products. Many products have an ingredient that will partially neutralize the insect's venom, but getting the ingredient into the bite is often not achieved in sufficient quantity and in time to be of much help. The granular material in Mitigator helps to open up the bite so that the active ingredient can get to where it can work on the venom, if you rub the bite area with Mitigator for a couple of minutes. If you fail to rub sufficiently, the product will not not be able to give the maximum benefit.

Mitigator works!
I always have Mitagator on hand at our house and while traveling. Our daughter was lamenting not being able to find Mitigator in Austin, so promptly ordered from Amazon for her-she was extremely grateful! Packets are the right size for purse and travel. Daughter said the packets I gave her for Paris trip saved the day. We recommend Mitigator to everyone!

Have these on hand if you have wasps around.
Bought these months ago for family vacation and first aid kit and forgot about them - until I got stung. Was stung in the back of the head by a red wasp doing yard work. Used this right after sting, which helped immensely versus the pain and burning last time I was stung (on the hand). The texture is like "apricot facial scrub". Stopped the burning, but I still had a headache and a lump on my head. That's ok though. Washed out of my hair with no problem and no residue. Two and a half weeks later, I still have a lump on my head, but this stuff made me a believer.Found out my Husband's work (telecommunications) uses this in their first aid kits also. He asked where I got them when he saw it and recognized it (ha!). I put it in every vehicle now, and it's in the house.

Not so great for sand fleas/flies aka No-See-Um bites
Was recently in the Caribbean and thought I'd try this on the sand fly bites. With the instructions to scrub vigorously for 2-3 minutes, it isn't a 'quick' fix that you just dab on the bite. Tried this on just a few of my bites (I had many, but chose to try other remedies on the others), and it did give quick temporary relief. Because of its grainy texture (has walnut shells listed as one of the main ingredients) it does leave a bit of a mess that then needs to be brushed or washed off - not something that you might do in a public setting. What I did find though was that it seems to bring the sand fly bite to a head, then subsequently broke open and wept for the next day or two. For those reasons I don't recommend it for these type of bites. I have yet to try it on mosquito, ant or spider bites.
