VBOT Robotic Vacuum EZ

Vbot EZ model 4969
*****Edit*****12/17/20**** This little guy is still going but it really is more of a hassle in the days where higher end, more sophisticated robot vacuums are becoming affordable. We’re gonna keep this guy for our second home in the country to help tidy up but we just got ourselves a Roomba and I DO NOT REGRET IT. On sale for cyber Monday and the vacuum maps our home, charges itself, empties its dust bin and goes back out if it didn’t finish the job exactly where it left off. I’ll leave a review for that model elsewhere which was the Roomba i3+ model. iRobot is just the top in this robo vac field and they’ve been doing it for many years now and it’s just getting better. Had it for a couple weeks and couldn’t be happier. Just worth the extra money to not have to monitor it else “you might as well vacuum yourself” right? Anyway as for this VBOT, have no fear as it’s heading to retirement in the country where it can occasionally clean up on lazy summer days. That’s about the speed for him anyway ;)Ok so I didn’t purchase this vacuum on amazon, I purchased it at my local VCS store since they had it featured there on sale. There are no reviews to be found online for this model. I’m assuming because it’s relatively new. However I wanted to find a popular place to warn or recommend others who may have recently bought. So far no warnings but I will update if needed. I wanted an entry level robo vac on a fixed budget. It’s basic, unlike Roomba it won’t recharge itself, you can’t schedule cleaning times and it doesn’t “map” your rooms, but for the price I figured give it a try. I charged it for 12 hours and gave it a go and pleased to say it worked great for over an hour. There is limited info on vbot products out there but it seems that 12-16 hours is enough. The instructions say the light will stay lit when done but I haven’t done that yet. It smoothly rolled over my short carpet and transitioned onto my tile floor quite well. With three Cats it picked up quite a lot so the suction seems strong and the waste container was filled. It’s not too loud but seems powerful. It gently bumps into any obstacles and backs up and continues on its way. There’s presets programs that the vacuum “choose” based I’m guessing on random. Not much brain here but it’s a worker so far. It’s preset movements are circular that spirals out, along the wall & random. It actually got through my living room with those movements and was able to reach my kitchen and bathroom. I wanted something for day to day cleaning until I could break out the shark upright vacuum for my weekly deep clean and this so far seems to be the answer for $100. Yes It got hung up occasionally on corners and some areas but I believe most robo vacs do from what I’ve read so you need to occasionally check on it. But to have a vacuum that can independently clean daily bulk hair and dirt so I can perform other chores is a nice thing and for the price again you can’t beat it. I took off one star for charging time which in 2019 16 hours seems excessive. I’ll update if anything worsens.
