Perseus: The Hunt for Medusa's Head [A Greek Myth] (Graphic Myths and Legends)

Thrilling classic just right for kids!
We got this for my 7-year-old son who is into comics and LOVES monster/dragon adventures . . . some of the text was over his head, and the concepts (prophecy, revenge etc.) are pretty sophisticated. The drawings are awesome -- Medusa and the Kraken are truly scary -- without much blood or gory violence. The classic themes are all there, and now we have fun noticing where we see references (to Medusa, Gorgons, Sea Monsters) in the media and entertainment all around us. Not to mention stargazing and seeing Perseus, Cassiopeia and their family in the night sky! This is a sturdy book (for a comic) that will last for years and surely be "rediscovered" on the bookshelf again and again. A welcome diversion from Superhero comics and a good addition to any library of kids' graphic novels.

My Favorite Greek Hero
The story of Perseus is a timeless example of badassery (for lack of a better word). Having read over 15 different versions of the story of Perseus, this graphic novel does a good job of presenting the story accurately and adds its own narrative to help modernize the story.

GREAT intro to comics; a little pricey
This is a well drawn, well written version of the Perseus myth. I esp. like that there's a glossary and a related-reading page at the end of the book. My kid is all into myths, and he's going into 3rd grade, so he's just reading for pleasure now. this is a great way to get him to read for pleasure.[...]

Another great story
I enjoyed this one along with Beowulf, Odysseus, and Atalanta. This one is action-packed, so it is a great enticement for young readers. It includes the killing of the Medusa, the killing of a sea monster, a romance with a beautiful Ethiopean queen, a fight with an Ethiopean army, and a final encounter with a lustful king who wants his mother. Each event is narrated in details, no survey quality to it. This is a 5 plus.

My children all enjoy the Greek myths on their own
My children all enjoy the Greek myths on their own, but this is a fun way to read the stories as well!

Good book
This is EJ. I am 11 years old and the book was okay. It was okay because it was different from the version that I know. I was expecting the other version.

My grand son loves it!
My grandson hesitates to read, but loves comics and Kindle books. He loved the adventure, the excitement and the pictures. He's reading the classics and they feel like comics.

Perseus and medusa
Some of the facts are wrong because Perseus is posidens son not Zeus's son because zues's son is Hercules not Perseus
