All the songs in this book fit the uke with its standard tuning of GCEA (high G). Some of the other books I looked at seem to have just taken guitar melodies and then put UKE chords on top, but the melodies then fell off the range of the instrument you have so are unplayable. Not so with this one. Every note is playable on the uke (tabs are provided) and all the lyrics are given. I never saw some of these verses before (btw, turns out that Tom Dooley guy was a jerk after all). This is a great book for sing alongs. Lots of fun tunes: “I walk the line”, “house of the rising sun”, “all my loving”.

I have been playing the ukulele for 3 weeks and having never played any musical instrument before in my life - I believe that makes me an absolute beginner. I love how easy it was to start playing the songs in this book. Made me feel like I could actually play something that was more advanced than children’s nursery rhymes. The tabs are a lifesaver and help me out enormously as I struggle to read musical notes. Definitely recommend this book for anyone who wants to expand their repertoire as they learn.

Fun and easy songs to play

I used to play a few different intruments as a youngster,basically I haven't picked up a stringed instrument ages but,I recieved a ukulele for my birthday,I bought a few books online and was shocked to find that most ukulele books are either all chords with just lyrics or don't have the music written out ect. I feel that every ukulele book should have both tabs and music...and fortunatly this one does :) so I was happy with it.If your an advanced player this may be way to easy,but for those just learning to play ukulele its great has about 20 songs put in order of difficulty with complete tableture,standard musical notation, and lyrics so you pick up the tunes fast even if you don't know them.

Good collection of easy to read songs. Unlike many uke books there are no notes below c so all songs can be played correctly on a standard ( high g) strung uke

Such a easy to read and learn uke book. I love that's it tabs. I don't play often so not good at uke or guitar but this is a book I can play the songs and pick up no matter how long it's been since playing

The Bad: I am a music instructor and try and avoid using TAB with beginners. I try and get them to use the black dots...so, as this book contains TAB I would only use it with experienced students or adults who want to work on melody. Thus, the 3 star rating because I can't use it for everybody I teach. The Good: The songs are cool! It is a good supplement to the Ukulele Book 1 so if you are purchasing that book, this is a good add on to your purchase. If you are a TAB reader, it is fine.

This is a great songbook for ukulele beginner; with the pictures of the chords right above the text / notations and the selection of the songs almost "guaranteed you will know", as a complete beginner I had a blast trying them all on the 1st day I picked a ukulele into my hand

Buen libro de canciones del ukelele incluye notación musical estandar, tabladuras y acordes (chords), además incluye las letras de las canciones (lyrics), la selección musical también es buena canciones de los Beatles, Elvis Presley, Simon Garfunkel, Hank Willians, Woody Guthrie... El pero de no dar 5 estrellas creo que deberían incluir más canciones por el precio, reduciendo el tamaño de la letra, otros libros incluyen 30 canciones. El precio comparado con otros libros sobre todo la edición con CD creo que es caro, sin el CD pasable aunque como digo debería incluir más canciones. Buen libro de todas maneras, buena selección de canciones con tabladuras no sólo acordes. Recomendable pero con mejoras. A good book of ukulele songs. It has musical notation, tabladures and chords. With the lyrics, too. A good selections of songs by Beatles, Elvis Presley, Simon Garfunkel, Hank Willians, Woody Guthrie... Cons... The price is a bit high (if you see other books of Liv rev collection ), I think must have a lot of songs (about 29-30). The CD edition is very expensive... Good book for ukelele.

I was going through the book, there is a simple layout. All the chords and the position on the fretboard together with the lyrics on one page. Before playing a tune, you can see how it goes.

Sto imparando ad usare l'ukulele, quindi ho acquistato il prodotto. Sono rimasta delusa perché le canzoni all'interno sono roba degli anni 60... A parte questo, il tutto è ben strutturato e descritto.
