Works for small panfish like crappie and keeps alive for a 10 hour kayak day.
Only drawback to this type of system; is drag when trying to advance at more than 1mph. I tie off to my starboard side and can't rear drag due to electric trolling mounted in stern. With several pounds of fish, you get a serious drag resistance and need to reduce speed to keep from drowning fish. In a kayak, choices are limited on how to keep fish from spoiling and when caught at first light, the 5 o'clock return becomes a 10 + hr experience. And ice bagging fish for 10 hours makes them mushy and less desirable to eat.Otherwise works as intended and is easy to store in front hatch

Doubtful at first, Now sold, Good design
Needed something better to hold bait fish for a couple days. Was looking for something collapsible, portable, rugged, and easy to clean. This product successfully meets those criteria. Worries - I was looking for a fully submersible cage and was not sure 10 gallon would be big enough for dozen or so live bait. Both worries put to rest - floating design means I can tie to a boat cleat so it nicely goes with the tide. Size was not an issue - it has held over dozen bait fish (ex. pinfish) for several days with no die-off many times now. Will buy it again...but not anytime soon as has held up well in the sun and salt water.Update - had the first one now for over 2 years; in the water 24x7 for minimum 3 months a year. Exceeded expectations for a collapsible, portable bait cage. Only issues have been 1) an otter ripped it open (smart animals) 2) crab worked it open. In both cases it was left with bait for several days; easy fix by sewing it back up with some spare braid. Would be nice if mesh was made with an even stronger material but not complaining.

Wish there was a top handle of some sort, ...
Wish there was a top handle of some sort, but overall works well. I usually use it as a gear bag for wading gear and a back up stringer unless we're fishing a live release tournament. Also comes in handy protecting your catch when the sharks and dolphin join the party. Would probably buy the size down if I wasn't planning on using it as a live release tournament stringer, there's plenty of room.

Seems solid.
Got it for kayak fishing. This is bigger than I imagined, nice and thick. Strong velcro. I'm pleased.

Just what I needed
I bought this for kayak fishing and I've used it once so far. I'd previously been fishing using frozen squid, and my results were not great. I decided to use this bait bag and see if live bait improves my luck. This bag is a good size for bait fish, opens easily and closes securely, and floats well when I tow it behind my kayak. It kept my bait fish alive, and I caught a delicious omilu (bluefin trevally)! Now I just need to find more time to get out on the water...

Seems very well made...collapses to ~3" tall
I haven't used it yet, but it seems to be very well made. It seems like the material won't easily rip or rot. There is a foam ring just under the lid to keep the unit afloat, and there are two weights sewn into the bottom to keep it expanded while afloat. Due to this ring around the top, you can only collapse it to a height of about 3 inches so you can't just fold it up and cram it into a tackle box but it does retain a fairly low profile still. The handle loops through an eye on each side and then velcros back onto itself. Mine came with two clips that you see at the top of the handle int the pic. There is a velcro flap on the top for access to bait that velcros on 3 sides (all but the 'hinge' side). I'm excited to use it next week!

Needed to modify.
Bait pen is pretty good, not great. There is no support of any kind inside so it collapses on itself. I made some wire hoops the same size as the ends a d zip tied them inside to keep it from collapsing allowing the bait fish to swim and stay alive.

Just what I've been looking for!
I think this thing is great! Its got a great price point and work great! Threw in a bunch of shiners and dropped the bait bag in the canal and 1 month later I still have live shiners! Yeah it looks a little nasty because of the algae but it still work great. I did reinforce the velcro straps as another customer mentioned.

Awesome for bait fish!
Used to have dead minnows in my bucket within a few hours, this Lindy mesh bucket works amazingly well, floats when you dont need them, and has kept my minnows alive the entire day +night.

Good Product
I wish the foam at the top was removable. Had to add extra weight to get it below the ice.

Excellent design and well made.
Great product. Quality materials. Nicely designed with weights in the bottom to keep it submerged. Can’t wait to make use of it.
