Do you resent shaving hair off your face as a monumental waste of your limited time and money? Do you put it off for several days until you're fed up with yourself, not really wanting a beard but also not wanting to go through the pointless, Sisyphean ritual of shaving, AGAIN? Then OK, first of all, thank your lucky stars that your workplace does not have facial hair as a dress code constraint. But you might have noticed that when you procrastinate that long, it’s even worse to shave… somehow having longer whiskers makes it even more irritating, at least for me.Well, not anymore. I don’t know what the typical ingredients of shaving cream are, but this Fusion Proglide from Gillette is AMAZING — somehow SIGNIFICANTLY better than another product that I used before, also from Gillette. It’s also in “gel” form, which means it comes out in a thin stream of blue goop that only becomes a lather when you smear it around your pre-wetted face. So if you are used to shaving cream that emerges from the can as white foam, you will need much less in your palm. Anyway, this product applies easily, adheres really well to the face, has a perfect emulsified balance of water and artificial lipids or whatever they are, and mysteriously makes my shaving much smoother. I’m even using a crappy, older razor blade because I’m too cheap and resentful to change the blade as often as the razor company would like me to, and it STILL works great. And the scent is fairly mild, fresh-smelling and not bothersome.The plastic, non-rusting can bottom, the rotating lock on the nozzle, and the cute “gauge” on the side where you can theoretically see how much is left… those are just icing on the cake. The reason you should buy this shave gel right now is that it lets you shave less often and not suffer for it! It might cost a dollar more, but if you get to change blades less often, you’ll rapidly make that back, too.

I like to use different types of shaving products, as it adds a little variety to a daily chore. My primary product is a well known canned foam, but I do enjoy switching off to a gel. If you try this, put a little bead in your hand, and massage it into your wet face. It is very easy to use too much. If you do use too much, of course you can just lather up more of your face. If you are used to foam, it is very easy to use too much gel. Once you get it on your face, a little goes a long way. I tried this based on a friend’s recommendation, and I do have sensitive skin, but that is only a problem, if I shave way too close. I had no problems with this product, and it was a nice change from my normal foam. Highly recommended!

For me it’s all about the razor. This cream smells good like Gillette usually does. It left my skin smooth and with a little water I didn’t have to reapply much. Good stuff.

I did t think I’d ever write a review on shaving cream but then I never really noticed a significant difference between varieties. I’ve always used shaving cream for sensitive skin with varying results. Frankly, nothing has ever made it truly comfortable until now.First, the alpine scent smells great - clean yet musk-ish. That’s probably all personal preference though. Where this really shines is in how it improves the shave. After applying, you can feel a little tingle setting in. The coverage is good.While shaving it seems like most other creams. After completing, when cleaning up my face, I noticed an immediate difference. It feels like there is a thin coat of lubricant on my face. The towel slid over my face like a piston thru a well oiled cylinder. 30 minutes after the shave, I have noticed significantly less razor burn and irritation.I buy top of the line razors and use liberal amounts of after shave lotion. This is never even enough to eliminate razor burn. I would have NEVER thought a shaving cream could make this much difference. It does. Well worth a try. This is the exact variety I will be buying from here on out.

Awesome shave gel! I have used just about every variation on the market and this could quite possibly be my favorite. From the can design to the scent this version is about as perfect as it gets. I love the twist top to prevent the leaking mess that usually happens and that the cap is made from plastic to prevent the inevitable rust we know, commonly found on the metal cans after just a couple uses. The scent of this one is also fantastic, very fresh feeling and wakes you up instantly if its a early morning.I'm not quite sure if I have just been lucky or the other reviewers just like to complain, because I have been through going on 6 bottles and have not had one problem with the dispenser malfunctioning.Tip: For a perfect shave try out Urth green tea and rice scrub first, to prepare your skin and loosen the hair follicles up and then the Alpine Clean gel for the closest and gentlest shave you're going to find! A bit pricey but so worth it, Enjoy!

I had given up on finding a shaving cream that was worth the money that I spent on it until I found this product. This shaving gel is fantastic! While I could shave WITHOUT any gel or foam, this product makes the shave so much more comfortable even if I wait one or two days to shave!! There is something about the gel that eventually turns to foam that has a truly slick feeling on the face that makes the razor blade glide across the skin without irritation! I’m sold on this brand and won’t change. It is the best I’ve ever tried (and believe me, I’ve tried plenty!). It is as good as the more expensive shaving oils that I’ve used. I’m sold! Buy it; you’ll be surprised!!
