THERMOSFUNTAINER 10 Ounce Stainless Steel Kids Food Jar, Disney Princesses

I recently purchased the Thermos FUNtainer Food Jar--Disney Princess Edition for my 5-year-old who has just started Kindergarten. We pack a lot of school lunches and my daughter doesn't have access to a microwave, so I needed something that would keep her food hot.I received this yesterday and as soon as I got it I noticed there was black scuff marks on the bottom pink part. No big deal, I took a magic eraser and wiped it all off. Looks brand new ;)I took a cup of water and put it in the microwave for 1 minute. Depending on what kind of microwave you have, you may need to put in there longer. We have a more expensive microwave and the water was too hot to touch when I took it out. I did NOT "pre-heat" my food jar (I think that's kind of dumb) and I dumped my super hot water in the food jar, sealed it up and laid it on it's side. Why did I lay it on it's side? To see if it leaks of course! My daughter carries her lunch box and stuff in there flops all over, so I wanted to make sure whatever I put in here wouldn't leak!I left it for 3 hours, about the length of time my daughter will be at school when lunch time comes around. I opened it to be welcomed by steam. I took my thermometer and the temperature was 150 degrees. Not bad after 3 hours. It would have still been too hot for my daughter to eat it right away (it was too hot for me!).It doesn't leak and it stays hot at least 3 hours! I'm sure it stays cold like it says as well. We are no stranger to Thermos Funtainers. We own 3 water bottles, this food jar and we've also pre-ordered the Frozen food jar.I do plan to put spaghetti in here one day. If you choose to do that, there is a rubber seal in the top of the lid. You can rub oil on the seal and top of the lid to prevent the pink and rubber from have spaghetti sauce stains :)***IF your product doesn't work like it's supposed to. Contact Thermos and have them send you a replacement. Chances are, you truly got a defective one. We've never hard an issue with ours and I can't believe we waited this long to purchase these!!

The seal easily falls off!! My little girl didn’t know what it was so she gave it to her teacher and now we don’t have a seal. She can’t carry liquids anymore.

We have 7 of these food jars. I found they do a better job of keeping things cold versus hot. I put my daughter’s yogurt in hers & they stay cold all day. My son’s Mac and cheese is warm by lunch, but not steaming hot. It’s also harder to clean the Mac & cheese from it than the yogurt. They’re over all great, don’t leak when they’re closed tightly, and the cute designs make my kids happy.

My daughter loves taking her food in this. It keeps her food nice and hot through lunch. It is easy for her to open. I worry about the plastic ring, but it's held up on being removed and cleaned separately so far. We have had no spills.

This product is worth the 5 star rating, because it keeps my child's hot lunch warm up to 5 hours. It's not necessary for the food to remain hot, as my child wouldn't eat it unless it were warm. I like that the thermos is easy for me to clean with a wide mouth opening, but for someone with larger hands than mine, it might be difficult for them to clean with a wash cloth. Larger hands would need a handled brush to clean it. Its wide mouth opening is also easy for my child to eat right out of the thermos.This product is great for kids and I would recommend it to my family or friends.

My kid isn't a fan of the food served at pre-k so I was on the hunt for the best container that would keep her food hot/warm until it was time to eat. And this was it!. Her teacher said when she took the lid off steam came out. Its not hot to the touch which is great for kids. I always boil water then pour it in the thermos and let sit while I heat up the food, dump out the hot water, in goes the heated food, and DONE! And it stays warm for 5-6 hours. Perfect for sending yummy home cooked food to school.

Just love it, not only my kid, but all of us, maintains temperature and freshness of the food items, above all it has Disney's endorsementsThe folding spoon is of great help as well, space saver and is solid.have not tried washing in a dishwasher yet, so cannot say if the paint will stay one or not, but the surface does get scratched

I love these! Right before using it, fill it with hot water to bring it up to the temperature of your food. Then empty and fill it with your hot food. It keeps food warm at least until lunch time if you fill in the morning. Very easy to clean. Very sturdy. Easy for the kids to unscrew and screw on the lid. Holds a good amount of food. Doesn't tip over too easily. I bought several more. Have had them for two years and it hasn't rusted or anything.I like to fill it with soups, porridge, scrambled eggs, warm leftovers....

Nice, but doesn't keep food hot

very nice and pretty.the interior volume is exactly the same that all mothers want(25cc) and is ideal for kids.it keeps truely warm the food for 5 hours.we bought it with the jar for drink and that one is great also.

I ordered this for my grand-daughter's hot school lunch. It is absolutely amazing. The service was super fast and she loves the Ariel face.
