I use this to spread diatomaceous earth to kill fleas and ants in the kitchen, on the patio, and lawn. It works perfectly, love the size, choice of pour holes, and it's lightweight.

Have a lot of pests, one is rabbits and I purchase the granular repellent. This is an easy shaker to use to spread it around and keep the rabbits and deer off our lawn and plants.Sandra

I bought this to spread ice melt more evenly. It works great! I used to spread it from the container the ice melt was in and used way too much. This spreads it more conservatively which is how it's supposed to be spread. I recommend it for this purpose.

This is a reasonable tool for the task as far as spreading the ice-melter goes. It's simple, sturdy enough and unlike some competition has the handle on the body, not the lid, making it easy to fill.On the negative side, it has nothing to direct the flow and it ends up on your shoes unless you hold it far away from yourself. Stuff basically just falls down on you if you aren't careful.Also, it's very expressive for what it is, but so is the competition.

I mainly use the Patio Eden Hand Held Fertilizer and Seed Spreader for spreading de-icer crystals on my sidewalks, patio and front steps. This makes everything so much easier than using the hand method. It's so easy to fill and has several size openings that give you just the right amount of product. It's very sturdy and the top fits securely. I's also big enough to hold a decent amount of product and small enough to be comfortable to use.

Don’t waste a dime on this cheap, rotomolded piece of crap. The quality is subpar at best, and the lid doesn’t screw on easily without a fight. For the money, you can certainly do better.Do yourself a favor. Go buy yourself a one-gallon shaker jug of ice-melt, and simply reuse the container as often as you’d like. You’ll have yourself a higher quality shaker, at a fraction of the cost.

Exactly what I was looking for even distribution. Much better than cutting holes in a coffee can! Good value.

This works well for spreading grass seed over small areas. A little expensive for a plastic jug with a sprinkler top.
