Although I have yet to use this pure silicone product, I was very pleased to discover that the slider mechanism for closing these food storage bags could not be easier to use. I easily washed the bags as suggested, and when closed they held soapy water without any leakage. As a person with very limited finger strength as a post surgery outcome of carpal tunnel surgery, I was concerned in reading reviews of similar products, that the reviewer mentioned a bag was very difficult to close. This product could not be easier to close. The bags stand up on their wide base for easy filling, with volume in cups, ml and oz marked on every bag. I much prefer the clear silicone for ease of seeing the food contained within.

We were looking for reusable snack bags for my kids to take lunch and snacks to school. They just arrived and they are wonderful so far. I didn't want to wash by hand so being dishwasher safe was important to me, as well as being food grade material. I was pleasantly surprised by the thickness of these bags and I can see them lasting a long time. Easy to open and close, my 6 year old had it mastered in a matter of minutes. Great size selection as well. With a flat bottom they stand up so filling was easy as well. So far these are great!

Summary in case you don’t want to read the whole thing: not bad for inexpensive silicone bags but I don’t think I’d purchase them again. Having never used this kind of bag before I wasn’t sure what to expect so I diligently read many reviews before getting these. They seemed like one of the best combinations of value and cost. Now that I’ve used them for a short while here are some of my observations. Hope they’re useful to someone. First of all, I love that these come in a pack with different sizes. The two smaller sizes get more use for me personally since they are more appropriate for snacks. The larger sizes mostly sit in the drawer. They are useful to hold crackers and foods with larger pieces that don’t fit well in glass containers like freshly roasted chestnuts or pieces of a baked squash. Also figured out that they are useful for marinating! Who would’ve thought. They are somewhat hard to open and close all the way, especially if your hands are wet, but it hasn’t really bothered me much yet. It’s actually helped when there are little ones around because they can’t get into my bags of treats without permission :-). But I can see that also being a negative for a busy parent who wants their kids to be able to open it themselves. I also wish the closing part wasn’t a separate piece from the bag. That makes two parts per bag to keep track of, instead of one which is a problem that is magnified x100 if kids are around, especially because the colorful closing sliders look like a kids toy. It also means storage is slightly more complicated since there are more pieces and the bag overall is clunky and a bit heavy (not recommended for backpacking). When it comes to cleaning I use a bottle brush since it cleans in the little crevices in the bottom. The expensive name brand bags have a smoother interior that makes them easier to wash. Requires a little more paying attention when I wash them. The bags are also translucent, not totally transparent like other brands which can be problematic for a visual person like me who forgets what’s in the fridge until I see it. If I pick it up to look I can tell what’s in it but often I’ll just forget it’s in the fridge because I can’t see what’s in it. Now that I’ve seen the other brands my friends use I would say these are like the good old reliable Buick that grandma drives; a bit unwieldy but altogether solid and affordable.

I have been using these for a while now and bought my sister a set. They are an excellent price for the quality and are pretty easy to use. The silicone is thick and easy to clean. Sometimes the slider gets difficult to put on or take off but it's not too bad. I haven't used them for liquids so I don't know if they are leakproof, but they are not airtight so I'm thinking it could be problematic. These are great for dry good or fridge/freezer storage. You can microwave and put the silicone bags in boiling water BUT the slider has to be removed making it inconvenient for these uses. There are more expensive silicone bags that are fully submergible and microwavable so if that is what you want them for, you should look at other brands.

These are great replacements for storing food in the fridge. I haven’t used them for taking food out with me, and I don’t think they’d be good for that. They’re thick and stiff and won’t hold as much as they look like they would. In some ways, this is good; they seem very sturdy, like they’ll hold up in the long run. I think this would make them cumbersome and inefficient for, say, bringing lunch to work or school. Also, they don’t stand up very easily. I wouldn’t expect them to, but that is a marketed feature, so I wanted to mention it. This also means drying them is difficult, as the sides will stick together and not dry. For those looking for a replacement for disposable plastic bags, they’re a great option, but you’d still need something else, thinner and more flexible. Oh, and I haven’t had a ton of difficulty opening or closing them. Line up the opening so that it’s smooth and the plastic rod will slide on about 2/3 of the way. Then hold the tab on the other side and pull it completely closed; this is what others may be complaining about in terms of needing to be the Hulk. I disagree. My sister had self-proclaimed noodle arms and she can open and close them without issue. All things to consider. Overall, I’m pleased with my purchase and would recommend them if these are not issues that would bother you.

I did some searching into which brand had the best reusable bags, as previous experience with cheap/random ones was not good. These bags are great! Heavy duty material, easy to clean, easy closure with the bar, keeps things fresh. Kids are able to easily use them for their lunches etc. Great customer service through Homelux Theory as well! Highly recommend!

I love silicone and am phasing out plastics and metal containers. I've tried a few different types of silicone containers and these are the best. Actually leak proof! I also love the colors of the sliders. I also love that this is a small family business. Ruthless corporations are running the world. We need to stand behind regular people who actually care about their customers and our planet.

These are just perfect! Thank you for providing a product that allows my family to be environmentally conscious and not indisciminately use cling wrap for anything and everything. I'll be ordering another set!
