Westbrass Y593244CP White Tubular Tip-Toe Bath Waste and Overflow Assembly, Polished Chrome

Licensed contractor. Used it to replace a horrible old tub drain that was eaten up by chemicals and was a bear to remove, worst one ever. This went in nicely to a 15yr old fiberglass surround tub. It did not require any adjustment. The customer did not realize the drain top sits up about 1/2" once it is depressed (closed position). So it looks like it is open, but it works fine and held water and pressure of 70 gallon test and drains just fine.

Our tub was leaking from its old seals and T connecton. The connection was metal to pvc and we didn’t want to deal with metal plumbing ( we obviously aren’t plumbers) so we just switched it to all pvc. The instructions were simple and the product works and looks much better than what we had . No leaks and the push plug works great.

Prompt shipping, well packaged (tried to load pic of short pipe at issue here but not computer savvy enough to do so). Issue is with the plastic overflow pipe when installed on a standard 17" tall American Standard fiberglass tub. Once hooked up you'll need an extension to mate to the tub drain fitting as overflow pipe is 1.75" too short. A simple fix to address, and dunno if other tubs have the same dimensions, but this one did and had to address it in order to make this product work. Otherwise an exact fit and OK.

This is my first bathtub replacement. Being a handyman of sorts, I have never called a plumber. With this thing, no problem. Installed it on a Delta Styla 54-inch alcove tub. It’s a bit thinner than schedule 40, but that made it a little more flexible when I needed flexibility. Still, it’s strong enough. Installation was smooth. (TIP: Before installing, I flipped the tub over and sprayed the unseen part of the tub with four cans of Great Stuff, for insulation to retain water heat.)UPDATE: The Delta 400 60-inch alcove tub that I am about to install in my second bathroom redo calls for an overflow drain pipe of 14 1/2 inches. This Westbrass overflow tube indicates a maximum of 14 inches. Woopsies! So, I called Westbrass. I was told that Westbrass sells an extension tube. No thank you. Amazon Sells the HIGHCRAFT Q4468 Plastic 6 Inch Extension Tube for $4.00. (Or an orange store has one for $3.00.) Still, this Westbrass assembly is such a great deal that I’m getting it again.

I removed a brass drain and replaced with this pvc replacement. No cutting required and slip fit was easy to install. For the price, it was a bargain vs installing brass components again. I was sceptical of the material thickness but it holds water and it will suffice. Get the tool to remove/install tub drains and paste or putty. I prefer paste. No leaks and minimal costs.
