I used this product to retain a GoPro while diving and my camera made it home. However, I would like to warn readers that the cable end can fail because it relies on cable crimp studs which may be easily dislodged from their recessed positions by bumping the cable inward. I used the key ring end for better security and the product met my expectations and need.The cable end relies on light cable tension and luck to stay in place so I'd recommend gluing the crimp ends in place if you want better security. I was lucky to notice this before diving and hope this helps someone else.

Lasted less than 6 weeks using it only for my S8+. The cable end began to fray a few days ago. The company's return policy is complete crap. By the time you package it, pay return shipping, pay their 'fee' (it's not a warranty if you have to pay for it) and then wait for a new one, it's not worth returning. For this kind of price it should be significantly better quality and they should not be advertising it as a lifetime warranty.

Perfect for my 7 oz Samsung Note8 Phone. It holds with no slack (unlike the 8oz), but doesn't retract the phone out of your hand when extended (unlike the 20oz). I used heat shrink tubing to protect the phone from getting scratched by the metal wire, and to prevent the wire from coming unhooked when the clip is detached.As with other T-REIGN flimsy carabiners, the wire came a little bent. At this price the quality should be better. Minus 1 star for that.

Bought it because the information indicates you can LOCK the cord. Well, you might be able to do that if the lock WORKED. Mine didn't. Can't lock the cord at all. The lock button moves, but it does not lock the cord. For the cost of this item, it's really cheaply made and not worth the money. If it weren't such a hassle to send it back, I'd return it. Just going to toss it in a parts box and maybe find use for it another day. Won't be buying T-Reign products in the future. Using Xtreme Duty Scuba in the name of this item is a real joke.

I got this for my pin pointer used in metal detecting. I never got this muddy, but it often takes several yanks to get it to retract all the way. One small grain of sand or debris on the line will cause it to jam and not retract all the way. You often have to extend it out several times to get it to retract entirely. This product comes with two attachment methods; a braided cable and a keychain style ring. I would have rather used the cable, but one end of the cable comes out of the housing too easily. It might not have been a problem but I didn't want to take any chances.

This product arrived as described, arrived on time and was in new condition. FYI: This product did rust (the metal clip part at the top of the carabiner) after 50 or so uses in salt water (SCUBA diving) but still works fine and I will continue to use it until it becomes a significant problem (I will put something inexpensive in it just in case like a rattle or).

I'm giving it 5 stars even though I'm not a fan of eth velcro for my needs. That's more of a personal preference, so it's not worth a negative on the product. That being said, I did then get the one with the rotating clip (https://amzn.to/2VdQLy0) and found that it fit my needs better.The attachment method is good, and won't come undone on you. I have full faith in this keeping the gear attached to me.I haven't put this thing through its paces to see how strong it is, but it seems solidly constructed.

Needing a retractor with a lock, I bought this one to hold my fishing net while fly fishing. I would have rated it a 5-star, but dropped one star. Only some times I thought I locked the retractor but found out it needed more upward pressure on the lock button. Though the price is a bit high, I'd buy another one knowing how to handle the lock button.

Meiner Ansicht nach das Beste was es in der kompakten Weise gibt. Ich benutze das Teil seit Jahren täglich. Es hat bisher nie gestreikt, sich etwas verklemmt oder es ging etwas kaputt. Das Schnürlein ist extrem belastbar. Auch wenn sich unbemerkt ein Schlüssel verklemmt und man weitergeht, reist die Schnur nicht einfach ab. Sie hält einen zurück und rollt sich nach dem entklemmen einfach wieder auf - Bestens. Das ist mein zweites Teil, welches ich guten Gewissens verschenken werde. Ich würde mir es jederzeit wieder kaufen.
