Q: can it be used in a well lit room and not affect the image?

No.. not really... it's kind of the same as a movie theater deal.. when lights are dim...picture is better... hope that helps.

Q: How does it perform outdoors?

It works great outdoors. Works best at dusk or after dark. The mobile projector with small size are most suitable to use outside, we set a screen in the yard, really enjoy watching movie at home.

Q: When the projector focuses on one edge the other edge goes out of focus. Is there a way to fix this?

Raise the projector to project evenly from the top and bottom. I set my keystone for best focus, not to correct the keystone.

Q: What is fan noise level or decibal level?

The fan noise is evident but not over whelming. It is a typical projector noise and is mostly confined to the left side. It is no worse nor no better than any projector sound I have heard in the past.
