Great Cameras When They Work
The dash cams were great and exactly what I was looking for when they both worked. After a week, the rear camera stopped working. I tried uploading the latest firmware and switching to a different SD card but the rear camera still would not work. The front camera was fantastic. Both cameras are well built and the accompanying app is easy to use. I also used the OBD II power source and it worked flawlessly.I regretted having to rip all the wiring out of my car to return the unit but I was not comfortable with the Seller’s process of resolving the issue. They wanted me tonsend both cameras back for them to analyze. Once they did that, only then will they send the replacement cameras. If the replacement cameras didn’t work, I would have to send them back again. Since the Seller was based in Canada, the shipping was further complicated.Anyway, it’s been over a week and a half since I’ve returned the system, I’m still waiting for my refund.

Everything needed for the best dashcam setup
Been in the market for a while and trying to decide whether it's worth the premium. When Blackvue released the 900 I was intrigued and the photos came back with a level of clarity that I thought was always missing. However, my next hesitation was the hard wiring. I wasn't super interested in doing fuse taps or splicing into headliner lights. Then, Blackvue released the OBD plug. OK, now I'm sold.I got the package and had it installed in maybe 2 hours (admittedly, being thorough and professional in installation). The wires tucked away fine. The CPL is a worthwhile addition. Everything was in place and working perfect. The kit has everything you could possibly need in a general installation.I did however upgrade 2 components. I swapped to a Samsung Endurance Pro 128GB based upon outside recommendations. The card it comes with works fine but I wanted the additional storage. I also upgraded the mount in the front to Blendmount. This is purely personal preference. The OEM mount is fine. All in all, this is a competitive price on a perfect package. Thanks Blackbox!

Pretty much everything I could hope for
After looking around A LOT I finally bought this one for my new Merc. Why I'm happy with it:* Easy install, did it myself. Did take like 30 minutes to push around all the cabling through the car.* It works seamlessly as I would imagine a connected dash cam should.** You can config several hotspots. Cellphone, home, etc. and it would then switch between them and even prioritize the home AP.* Multiple ways of accessing and configuring the camera, by direct wifi connection and through the cloud/internet.* Many things to configure. Pretty much anytime I thought "I wish I could make it work like X", I eventually found a configurable option to make it so.* Works 24/7, monitoring battery drain. Automatically detecting event and uploading them if it can.Downsides* The initial config did take some time, and it's not for the faint of heart. There are many options and someone who is not very technical might get confused.. for me it was OK.* the UI is sluggish, and not exactly clear what goes where. Previewing the videos takes forever.* Every time I close the door and get in my car it triggers the motion sensors and stores an 'Event'. Yes, you can reduce the motion sensor sensitivity, but I'm not sure I want to..Bottom line - I would highly recommended.

expensive, some good features, easy install, just needs a few tweaks.
I have purchased 5 Thinkware cameras, and now 3 Blackvue 900 cameras. I loved the THinkware F750 model, but the F800 has so many problems that I decided to switch over to the major competitor in high-end dash cams to give them a try.So far, the image quality seems fine, and the 900 has the built-in GPS instead of requiring a separate antenna. However, I'm really disappointed with the parking mode concept. The camera itself does not have a battery and accessory power line, so it cannot directly tell when the car is on or off (unlike the Thinkwares that do). Blackvue offers the "power magic" adapters, that are intended to keep the power to the camera on for a period of time after the car is turned off, allowing the camera to run normally for the specified time. However, this is very short-sighted. If the camera changes to parking mode based on the motion of the vehicle, then why would you wan to kill the power to it after a period of time when it is only recording in limited modes like motion detection or impact detection? If you use the power magic box, it will kill the power to the camera if either the battery voltage drops below a selected voltage, or a timer runs out (6, 12, etc hours). These are incredibly simple functions to incorporate into the camera and eliminate the power magic box entirely. Thinkware does it, as a major competitor, blackvue should do it too. So, all in all I am not impressed with the blackvue's parking mode options. As far as the cloud services and auto uploads, I have not had a chance to play with that yet... It's a feature Thinkware has been talking about for years, but still does not have on the market. It's one of the big reasons I chose to switch over to Blackvue. So we'll see how well it goes. All in all, the blackvue is a good camera, it has some nice features, but it needs a few tweaks to better handle parking recording and some other things.
