Comprehensive Starter Set
I was completely new to miniature painting when I bought this set, and I haven't tried any other brands of paint, so I can't compare quality with anything else. What I can tell you though is that in terms of value and range of colours included, I'm pretty sure this is the best miniature painting set available on Amazon at time of writing (without going crazy and buying a giant box featuring every shade of the spectrum).I was able to paint much nicer figures with these than I was ever expecting to, and making my own mixes was hardly ever necessary as there was such a comprehensive range of colours included in the box. I especially like that there were a couple of washes included, which are truly the key to making miniatures look extra-special, as well as a couple of metallics which are great fun to use. And the bottles are a good size too - I've painted around 180 figures so far and none of the colours have run out yet (although some are getting close). The only downsides I can't think of are that some of the paints are definitely more watery and require more layers than others (I'm not sure this is a brand issue so much as just the way those colours inherently are), and the brush it comes with is a token afterthought (you will absolutely need to get a proper set separately, as well as primer and varnish); but really I'm just nit-picking here, as I was able to achieve everything I wanted and more with this set. If you're looking to get into miniature painting, I really can't recommend this box enough.

Great Paints, you need to nix them well!
I bought these paints as I was running out of a few of the basic colours.I liked the paint colours, thought they were interesting and eagerly awaited their arrival. I have to say I was impressed when they arrived. They certainly look great, the packaging is good. These are clearly aimed at the miniature market, which isn't something I really do, but hey, paint is paint. So in use these things are really good, the colours are vibrant and they cover well. Its easy to get some great saturation on these paints so that your model looks really colourful. The one downside is that if you leave the paint alone for a few days, it tends to separate a little. Which means you need to give them a really good shake to get them mixed up again.I ended up using some paint mixing balls in each pot, which really helped. So I'd advise shaking them, shake them again, re-shake and for added luck, one last shake. But otherwise these are excellent paints and would highly recommend.

Good quality paints - I'm a happy customer
I've been painting acrylics for many years and recently got into painting minis for my DnD campaign. These are good quality paints and I would recommend because they:- have good pigmentation- mix well on the palette and directly on the model. The colours I used from this set on the dragon were light grey, purple, blue and silver acrylics, and the dark tone wash, and they blend well- they dry relatively quicklyAn area of improvement could be the coverage, but nothing 2 or 3 coats and some good painting technique can't fixOverall, a good paint set with lots of different colours

Good quality purchase
It has been a while since I did any painting, I would always buy the citadel paints before now but after looking at all the many reviews and different websites I decided to try a different brand. I was going to get a different set but the fact the undercoat spray can was included with 3 brushes it looked like a good deal. After using them for a few weeks I found them to be really easy to use and dried really quickly so you did not need to wait long to add the extra highlights. In all I am very happy with my purchase. It would have been 5 stars if the paint had been a touch thicker for my liking but that is just my preference.

Excellent base set.
My first attempt at painting and I had no idea which to buy. Are these the best paints? I have no idea but they were good and easy to use. Little shake and I am happy with the results on my og Heroquest (3d printed)

Perfect paints at the perfect price!
I can't recommend these paints enough. With 20 years of miniature painting under my belt I have used a lot of different acrylic paints and these top the list. The quality of the paints is brilliant- they cover really well from the first coat, their pigments are superb and there no lumps or thick spots. The starter box here gives enough colours to mix and match almost any shade, with 2 must-have inks for shading and highlighting details. Have a look at the photo yourself- each model was painted only using this box, and each one took half a day to complete! You'll be hard pressed to find better!!
