Great quality laptop and long lasting
This has been an amazing laptop since I had purchased it years ago and still running strong. Has needed nothing. I added more ram to it. The quality and longevity is just great. I would purchase this laptop again. It may not be a high end gaming laptop but it does great for the games that I do play. You can install Windows on it or Linux Mint and it works perfectly. Worth the price.

Going into year four
This computer is going into its fourth year of existing with daily use, sometimes 5-10 hour days. Everything so far works and works well.I give it roughly twice a year internal cleanings to get out any built up dust. I also upgraded it last year from 8GB of ram to 16GB of ram and has done very well. I have called this computer my PS4, as its so far been able to handle anything I throw at it. I havn't run into a game yet it can't run, though maybe not on the highest detail. Then again I dont mind potato mode at times in various games. Some game titles ive been able to work with [Plus frames settings]Ark: Survival Evolved - Custom settings ranging from low to high. [Low settings on any extra cosmetics, like skybox, or shadows, Medium everything else]League: Max settingsFornite: Custom settings, doesn't like unreal engine 5, but hey this PC is using gear from 4-5 years ago.Minecraft: Custom settings between low and high.Various other games that can be rescourse hungry. Depending on the game, I was able to stream with it while also gaming some of my less resource hungry games. That was before the addition of RAM.I worked with the PC for about 2 years before upgrading the Ram. I highly suggest doing it on your own, it is super easy to upgrade. Plus well worth it for frame rate. Just buy the right item and plug it in basically. The only thing I have ever really noticed with this PC was when I bought it, I thought it was a lemon. It would blue screen randomly, but it was like after it got to know me it never did it again. Same with the wifi, sometimes it acts a fool, but is still stable enough to run. I do plan to replace it at some point in the future. The fans still work and do a pretty good job of self cleaning. There is very little build up when I go in and clean. I still suggest doing it now and again anyways to make sure everything looks okay.I hope to keep this laptop running until I no longer can use it[PC dies, or games just scale past abilities]. Its really easy to get into and work with. I for sure hope to get another Asus, I'll more than likely get an older cheaper one just like this one was [this PC was bought I believe a year or two after release].

Solid purchase for good price
Overall, for an affordable gaming laptop this is great. I’m able to run any game I’ve tried at 60+ FPS 1080p while also just having more powerful specs than most computers on the market. I added an additional 1 TB SSD and another 8 GB of RAM and I recommend both of those upgrades if you plan on gaming as 256 isn’t nearly enough to store everything, and 16 GB of ram is pretty much required now. Here are my pros and cons:Pros: Great for gaming, run most games at 1080p 60+ fps, lots of processing power for various other thingsCons: Battery runs out in about 2 hours, frames drop significantly when charger not plugged in, ventilation is limited with all the components being enclosed inside the thin area of the laptop(more advice on this below)If you are planning to get this laptop for gaming, you must get a cooling pad as well. When I play my games, if my cooling pad isn’t on my frames drop and the laptop gets very hot(GPU approaches 85 Celsius). Cooling pads cost like 30 bucks on Amazon, so just buy it because not only will it protect your components from overheating but you will also see better performance. Overall, this laptop has given me a way to reintroduce PC gaming into my life, and has made it easy and portable which is fantastic as a student. Obviously if you’re looking for 4K gaming with the best graphics, you’re definitely going to need an expensive desktop, but if you’re cool with 1080p gaming and you want the portability this is the way to go.
