A great mobo for a great price!
I purchased this mobo and prayed that it didn't arrive DOA and when I received it was very easy to set it up for it's a plug and play mobo. It's a great mobo, only reset the bios if it doesn't start up the first time. Don't leave the jumper in the CLEAR CMOS, for this mobo doesn't need a jumper to keep your BIOS settings. This mobo performs very well and did run my Intel Dual Core CPU LGA775 and my 2 DDR2 800 memory with no problem. It's even better than the MSI micro mobo that I had before. I've heard that Asrock is a better brand now than before.

Semi-Legacy
This board was for a client who needed an LGA775 board, yes... LGA775 is not the newest socket on the block, it is quite ancient... and this board is the perfect blend of old and new. It has everything that is needed to bring your 775 cpu into this era without using an insanely outdated, crappy, DDR2 motherboard at the right price point. Obviously you are not making a gaming machine out of anything running this socket, but for a fix to a business computer or re-purposing an old rig into a makeshift server, using this and grabbing DDR3 along with everything else is a good investment. For those who do not know about ASRock, they were owned by ASUS (very reputable brand) after awhile they went alone, and quality has not faltered. I have had 0 ASRock or ASUS boards fail on me.

Backup Computer
I had some DDR2 and socket 775 stuff laying around that desperately needed life put back in it. Running an e8400 and OCZ Raptor Ram at stock for now. Only needed the chipset driver on the cd BUT the cd does set chrome as your default. Well mine already was so i didn't care. Maybe get the ICH7 drivers from Intel if you know how (i don't really) or just undo chrome later. The equipment, and a GTX460 all love this environment. The core 2 duo is showing its age and could use an overclock, which i MIGHT be able to do with this board, it has the option atleast. A big zalman with 110mm fan (weird round big copper heat sink) fit with just enough room to spare for the giant heat sinks on the RAM and room for a huge GTX460 EE style (longer). Better plug in and screw everything down before attaching that heat sink, shew, even in my mid tower i had to get triple jointed to get the cpu fan header attached after the fact. I'll end up running a smaller card, smaller PSU and DDR3 ram when it's all complete but so far it's performed as well as any stock mobo i've used before. Setup and install were easy (if you think ahead) and the memory choice is helpful as GOOD DDR2 is more and more scarce. All in all fantasic buy.

So far so good. MBs either work or the don't
So far so good. MBs either work or the don't. This is replacing a 5yr old zombie mother board I had by MSI which replaced an original HP MB. Using the original CPU and memory this board seemed to work faster - maybe is better integration with the RAM than the MSI. I am happy with its performance. I have had it for over 1 month at the time of this review. The title on the product suggests that there is an 8GB somewhere in there but there really isn't and that refers to the max capacity per slot. 5/5 because its used for a dumb-deskside server Points to note if you are considering this board: (1) These boards CPU is nearer the connectors that face out the normal back of a computer. Since the CPU fan is a large item the board with the CPU fan on it might not easily fit the original enclosure with the fan for the case. Looks like they moved the CPU to make room for extra memory slots. (2) I had to change the setting on the BIOS from the default settings are to run the fans at full speed. (3) if you are using lm sensors you may need to recalibrate them at your OS level.

The BIOS was easy to configure and the machine boots up quicker through ...
Bought this to replace an Intel DG33TL with an LGA-775 processor. Installed the a firmware update that I hadn't notice for a while and it locked up the board. Known problem and they never fixed it. Thanks Intel... This was my secondary computer anyway, but wanted to see if I could restore it but knew the motherboards needed to be replaced. I searched around a few other computer supply websites and the prices to support this chipset was still too much. I decided to try out this one, though I hadn't had experience with the brand in the past. Install was simple and was compatible with all my extra components. The BIOS was easy to configure and the machine boots up quicker through POST than the Intel board did. I ended up giving the computer to my mother as hers was ancient, and was able to do this with this board. Have had no issues with it, and I certainly would know as I'll always be the parent's tech support!

Got my XP Q9400 system up and running again.
Got my Core 2 Quad Q9400 XP system that I need for very old games up and running again. Had to flash BIOS from version 1.00 to 1.10 to get my GSkill F3-10666CL8D-4GBRM DDR3 running at 1333 MHz. Before the flash this RAM was NOT stable at 1333 MHz. Had trouble booting and memtest 86+ threw SOOOOO many errors. Once I flashed, memory and computer were stable with no memory errors. Had to set CPU ratio after flash to get CPU running at correct speed again. I did not have to do this with version 1.00. So, check EVERYTHING in bios after flash.

Dead on Arrival
Board wont even POST. Fan turns on but nothing happens. No beeps on speaker either. Moved the CPU and RAM to the old ASUS and it will POST fine so has to be the board. The old ASUS was having issues running so wanted a new one that would use my old CPU and RAM. On the bright side it was so cheap I can just junk it instead of dealing with the hassle of trying to return it. These boards are very old so have been hanging out in a stock room somewhere for years - so buyer beware. I did NOT try to contact support so this review is not about that. They may be wonderful and helpful but for $60.00 not worth boxing it up and driving to UPS to send it back. This is just my experience and I know others have loved this board. DOA's are just really annoying.

Asrock G41C-GS R2.0 The perfect choice for those who want to replace their old LGA 775 motherboard. I replaced my old Intel D102GGC2 mtherboard with Asrock G41C-GS R2.0. My PC's other component were in working condition so I chose to buy this than buying a new CPU. Ordered it & customer care called for confirmation because waiting period was one month. You have to pay online as it is not eligible for cash on delivery. Surprisingly the package delivered within a week! the package originated from delivered via Air India and then via blue dart to my place. The package was sent from US based online computer equipment seller newegg.com. I visited their website and it's cheaper their about 6000 Rs. & they do deliver in India (don't know about delivery charges and excise duty other taxes if any). The motherbord has nice built quality. The motherboard can charge your mobile phones even CPU is off, you can easily overclock your CPU with the help of utility (the softwares are included in th support cd). The compatible RAM is very hard to find. Read following. Things to remember for Users of Combo Motherboard- -The RAM must have 16 chips in total i.e. 8 chips on each side. Try to find this RAM and it will work 8 out of 10 times. This include both DDR2 & DDR3 RAMs. -You can install maximum 8GB RAM in DDR3 slots (4+4 GB) or 4GB RAM in DDR2 slots (2+2 GB)(This depends upon the model of motherboard some combo motherboards have one DDR2 & one DDR3 slot). -You can not use DDR2 & DDR3 RAM at the same time. -If your'e lucky enough to find the said RAM, buy two for full use of your mtherboard's capacity or to keep it in safe for future use (Your motheboard will hardly stop working or get damaged (motherboard's expected life is more than 10 years from my experience)). Try hard enough to get two RAMs with same model no. which is mentioned on the pack, while buying from Amazon set quantity for two. The reason behind this is, very few RAMs have 16 chips and they will not be manufactured as now people use DDR3 and DDR4 type of RAMs. Above mentioned suggestions are based on my experience and research through different blogs & websites.

I am often asked by my neighbours to repair or deal with their IT problems. One of my neighbours pc's was gridding to a halt. To a point the motherboard components were failing. So I required a replacement board of 'older' technology, this one fitted the bill perfectly. In very good condition and no issues after installing.
