his new favourite shoes! lightweight, breathable, great fit with stretch
We needed a lightweight quick-drying outdoor shoe to compete in the Finnish Wife Carrying Championships (put that phrase into youtube, it's hilarious) and this fits the bill perfectly. The mesh dries quickly and it fits like a sock, but the soles are very grippy like hiking boots. Great for uneven, wet terrain. Works with or without socks. Wore them to hike right up to the foot of Gljufrabui (a waterfall in Iceland); absolutely ideal for climbing over mossy, slippery rocks or doing the water and mud obstacles in a silly race. Also perfectly comfortable to walk around on pavement all day when it's too hot for serious shoes but you want a little more support than flip flops.

Way better shoe then I had hoped for
I was at several sporting goods and athletic shoe stores trying to find a light weight close toed hiking shoe, with a good traction sole to wear around Japan this summer in the heat and humidity and likely rain. I could not find anything like the Flarut sandal even for $150. After researching on line, I kept coming back to this shoe because the reviews sounded just like what I was looking for. I am so happy with this purchase, they are exactly everything I wanted, I would have been paying much more had I seen anything like this in stores. Super comfortable, excellent tread on a very flexible sole, well made and almost no weight at all. Tightened the bungie ties once to fit, and have not had to do anything more except slip them on. I have worn them exclusively now since I got them 2 weeks ago, since they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I hike 4 miles every morning, a mix of concrete and then beach sand. These are the first shoes that somehow do not get sand in them, not sure how since they are low cut and pretty open, but no sand. I wear them around the house, working in the yard, out at night even, since they look good as well as comfortable. I will probably need another pair by the time I travel to Japan in July. I also have gotten them wet and they still stay comfortable and dry fast. Only thing I did was add an additional insole under the very nice breathable, light weight insole that came with the shoe.. I have some severe toe damage issues from years of breaking things with my feet in martial arts and have a special insert to support my toes. I wear a size 101/2 normally, so got the 11 to make sure I had room for the added insert. Worked perfectly and gave additional cushion and arch support which is likely the reason I can walk 4 miles and wear them all day long with no problems. However even with my special insoles I can't wear any of my other shoes that long and still be comfortable. Can't recommend them enough if you are looking for a shoe like this, Great product and I am going to buy a few more pairs just to have in stock.

Love these outdoor shoes!
I'm loving these shoes. Had them for 3 days and I put them through my doggie walk ringer test. Put about 5 miles of hiking/walking with these and I'll tell you what. If they last 3-6 months they might be worth it for you. 2 pair of these a year, in my opinion, is still much cheaper than some overpriced brand that looks old even if it's still a good shoe. I prefer a new, good shoe more often. The shoe itself is a little wide in my opinion, but I plan to put an extra insole on there and I think that won't be an issue. I've only wore them without any socks and boy was I surprised that my feet didn't get wet. I wore them through a high grass and low grass area. Gravel and paved pathways. They seem perfect. My feet stayed dry. I'm impressed and happy I bought them. They have great grip except perhaps on metal. They did feel a little slippery on a metal wire bridge. See attached pic. Update 12/21: Still loving these months later. Wore them constantly as wet hiking shoes for a month long camping trip. Held up wonderfully. Just add some nice gel inserts and wear with thin/thick socks and they are ridiculously comfortable even over rough terrain. Great buy!!

Not good for bigfoot. Excellent for us narrow foot folks. Size down.
I have narrow feet. Ordered a 10, which is what I usually wear and they were too big (long). Got a size 9 and they are just right. Love the way they feel and look. Have not spent a lot of time in them yet but so far I LOVE them. I think they are a bargain. Will be doing some warm weather hiking and these should be perfect.

Only for very narrow feet
The quality seemed to be nice, much thicker soul than I am used to for barefoot shoes, but the fit is not typical of barefoot shoes. They are very narrow. Barefoot shoes tend to have a wide open toe box. These felt more like the dress shoes your parents would make you wear for one more year because buying new shoes was too expensive. Can't say if buying a size larger would make any difference. Returned them.

someone said...
i read someone complaining about how hard the rocks felt under his feet i do not know what kind of trekking this guy does or maybe i'm the weird one but i do really need to feel every bump, every level change, the rock, the soft, all that in order to mentally assure a perfect grip. So, this shoes do that for me, i feel the road exactly as much as i need to feel it, and for the price i think they are more than perfect, you can't ask for more, you can't eve ask for what you are actually getting for this price, It's been a week since i got em, just 3 little hick with em, it's too early to say but until now they feel pretty good, they are comfortable, light, so soft you feel you can move your feet as if you were barefooted, they even look good with nice pants (nothing fancy obviously) the only thing left is the durability i'll get back to you in due time

Poor Quality
Haven't had them for a month yet and they're already worn out. They don't breathe whatsoever even though you can literally get any type of dirt or sawdust anything through this material that they're made out of. I'm throwing them away and never ordering this brand again.

Great looks and fit!
I'm not one that extensively walks trails, so my review is based on casual hikes/walks. These sandals/hiking shoes are well made and feel like they will hold up well for the casual user. I haven't had them long but they feel comfortably and breathable. Either with shorts or casual pants, they are quite stylish. Yes, I would by again.
