An LTE smartwatch is a better choice (and if you just need a phone, get a bigger one)
I bought the unlocked, standalone version direct from Palm. All you REALLY need to know about the Palm is that it’s a well built, tiny Android phone with a tiny battery. As you might expect, this means that battery life is poor, and even on max font size, text in many apps can be really hard to read, and typing can be touchy.Palm did come up with two software tweaks to mitigate both of these issues somewhat. There’s a simplified home screen of scrolling icons without text - kind of similar to the Apple Watch (but that only helps on the home screen), and “Life Mode” - an option which makes the phone go into airplane mode whenever the screen is off.Palm promotes life mode as being a way to unplug and spend less time glued to your phone - but an equally important reason is that it’s the only way this phone can get through the better part of a day without needing to be recharged! Handily, Palm provides a quick way to temporarily disable life mode for a few hours in case you’re expecting a call, etc.But in my day or two of using the phone before sending it back, at least for me, life mode seemed more like a bandaid to fix a hardware shortcoming, rather than a clever way to help me focus on the world around me - and honestly, with a phone this small, I was much less interested in using it compared to a regular sized phone anyway (maybe that’s the point?)Also, with life mode enabled I could never get Google Photos to sync anything, even if I told the phone to temporarily turn life mode off for a while. I don't know if other apps would have similar problems but it wouldn't surprise me; most are designed with the assumption that your phone is usually online for decently long periods, but life mode turns that upside down.Hardware-wise, despite being small the phone felt substantial and well made and looked good (similar to a shrunken iPhone XR). Performance was acceptably fast and photos were pretty good. There’s only one button for power/standby (volume can only be adjusted via the UI) and no headphone jack. To save screen space there’s a little 3 dot LED below the screen that replaces the navigation icons; tap once to go back, twice to go home, and hold for multitasking app menu. I found this to be intuitive and easy to use. Palm also includes a way to swipe up and do a gesture to quickly launch an app when unlocking, but I found it to be tricky to get to work. Face unlock thru the camera worked quickly and reliably.Palm also included a leather (or faux leather?) case with the phone along with both a neck and wrist lanyard. The case looked nice but it completely removed tactile feedback on the power button, and it caused the phone to constantly reboot into recovery mode when charging - I guess it was causing the power button to be pressed in (support told me to massage the case's power button a while to fix this but I didn't try). And the two ends of the wrist lanyard for the case wouldn’t stay attached no matter how I pushed and twisted them.In summary, I think anyone considering this phone as a companion device would be much happier with an LTE smart watch instead. You won’t need to sacrifice connectivity to get much better battery life, and rather than squinting at shrunken text and trying to tap on tiny targets, you’ll use apps designed for a small screen in the first place. And if you’re considering this as your main phone, you'll be even more disappointed, for similar reasons.

Baterry Life
I love the phone and works as promised! My only complaint is the battery life, the phone won't last charged for more that five hours, but since i just love this mini phone I bough a Mophie case charger, as soon as the phone goes on a 30% battery left I just use the Mophie to re charge it. I use as a spare phone, so I can just turn it off at any time, if you need to use your phone on a daily basis you would have to keep it charging at all times or just buy a case charger as I did

Works well but...
Works as promised but SIM tray can be tricky....no user manual... terrible battery life but I only use it while running so no issues. Reliable seller. A steal at this price; at full price not so much

Perfect device to disconnect and enjoy real life.
This little phone is the perfect escape from the standard smartphone. Lugging my full-sized Galaxy around all the time, I found myself checking Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, etc., constantly - at red lights, while going on walks, while walking through a store, etc. This device, if you don't install those apps on it (you can), is a good escape from that urge, just like people who want to eat less calories keep less junk food in the house because they know they'll be tempted to eat it if it's there.People complain about the battery life, but it's not SUPPOSED to have a ton of screen time. If you let the phone sit on standby, like you're SUPPOSED to with this phone, you can go 2 days without charging it. It's only if you are turning the phone on and scrolling through apps that the battery drains quickly, but the entire point of this phone is NOT to be doing that.It is also great if you wear "slim/skinny" pants/jeans out, instead of your big, bulky smartphone and case. It's just an all-around great little device to have to complement your main smartphone.
