These are great for backpacking, very sturdy, reusable, and waterproof. I gave 4 stars only because they are a bit expensive. But they do perform well.

I bought these for my sister. It is an easy way to vacumn pack food. The bags are strong and can be used multiple times to help save money.

I took off one star because you have to work with the valve a bit to get the air sucked out. More than likely your first placement of the handheld attachment won't work but with a little patience, you'll find the right placement. Other than that good buy.

I bought these for sous vide cooking after seeing answers from the seller in the Q&A saying they can be boiled and will work for sous vide.My initial test use was at 137F for four hours with some cheap ingredients and they worked great. The zip is VERY strong and the bags seem thick. I thought I had a winner.The next day I made a much more extravagant recipe with high quality (expensive) ingredients. The temperature on this one was 182F for three hours, but I wasn’t worried. These bags look far tougher than the Ziplocks I’ve been using.Two hours into the cook I discovered the bag had failed. The water bath was full of sauce and the inside of the bag had a bunch of water. Dinner was ruined. We ended up ordering pizza. And my sous vide machine was fouled with sauce.These might be fine for the freezer, but don’t trust the seller when they say they’ll work for sous vide.On a side note: When I was ordering, I thought it was funny that all the color options showed blue bags. I ordered red and then they arrived and I saw why the pictures were the same: I got blue. Not a big deal, but why bother pretending to offer different colors?Also, on a more concerning note, looking at the description now, I’m struck by the fact that whether or not they are BPA-free isn’t even mentioned. If they aren’t, then they are entirely inappropriate for sous vide even at lower temperatures, and questionably appropriate even for freezer use. It seems like it would be mentioned if they are BPA-free, so now I’m left to wonder if I should just throw them out. Hopefully I’ll get an answer soon on that.

I have been using these bags to store frozen food items. They work well and are worth the money.

These are nice heavy bags with a heavy duty zipper. But when repeatedly trying my Food Saver accessory hose and end piece to use the circular port, no vacuum was pulled on ANY of the many bags I ordered. I made sure that the zip seals were closed, no help. I tried blowing compressed air into the port, about 80 psi, hoping to loosen it up so it would then suck properly from the outside, no help. And I could hear the suction end pulling air as I moved it around the circular valve. I finally just used the bags like glorified Food Saver bags by opening ziplock, pulling vacuum through it and then heat sealing the bags like usual. That worked, but of course then it's not reusable, the point of the whole thing. Yet another waste of money and plastic, at least if you use a FoodSaver.
