I used these to retap the thread on my car's wheel nuts after a garage manage to cross-thread two of the nuts onto the studs - I also had to chase the studs as well, but that's a different tool and different review.The set comes with two slightly different taps, one more for ease of chasing (a plug / taper tap) and the other better for cutting the thread down to the bottom of the unit being tapped (bottoming tap).I found the taper / plug tap best for clearing the thread that had been damaged and the bottoming tap was a good way to cut a slightly cleaner thread after.Overall, good tools for a good price, did the job I needed them for. I would recommend them to anyone.

Bought to tap out a 5 mm thread and replace a missing tap from a set. Worked well.

One tap was blunt

This is a non standard thread used for breaks disc retaining screw.Cleared the thread after drink g out damaged screw. Job done !!!

I'm glad that this came in two, the other tap seems to have a faulty finish and is riddled with burrs, a surprising defect from BGS! The other one Thank goodness is perfect.

La use para repasar los agujeros donde roscan los tornillos de la rueda en el buje del coche. Con WD40 poniendo de vez en cuando para que lubrique y cuando opone algo de resistencia, dar un cuarto de vuelta a derechas y despues volver una vuelta a izquierdas, asi todo el rato y queda perfecto y no se rompen los filetes ni mucho menos si esta bien lubricado todo.

Lässt sich sehr gut damit arbeiten. Preis- Leistung: passt perfekt. Ich würde sie auch noch mal kaufen.
